I'm pretty sure anyone that had a tape player in a car, had to untangle and rewind cassette tapes. Never did the match book trick though how did it work?

Was just told by my boss "you're winning another award at this year's annual meetings in Vegas. Try to act surprised."

I'd like to say sometimes it's hard to be this awesome, but it's really not that hard when it all comes natural.

My old '87 924S has a cassette player in it. Thought it best to keep the proper vintage old Alpine in it. I did still have cassettes in the '04 Audi surprisingly enough but that's gone now so I have a bunch of old tapes and just one venue for play, that old Porsche.

It has now become some sort of competition between Mrs. GTO and I where we text each other the latest picture of what baby GTO has climbed on that day. He is out of control. Yesterday I was sitting on the couch and he just started climbing over me to get to the back of the couch. Here's today's shot. Apparently, he had trouble getting down and fell.

This week has been been kind of tough. My 8-year old son had an ear infection that started on Tuesday. Took him to the doctor and they gave him antibiotic drops. However, his fever continued and his eardrum ruptured so he was having constant drainage from his ear. Took him to the doctor again yesterday and they gave him oral antibiotics now as well. He's missed school all week and just looks miserable. I worked from home on Tuesday and my wife took care of him the rest of the week. Hopefully this next round of antibiotics will help get him better.

Before long he'll be brachiating between the ceiling light fixtures. Knew there was a reason I love that kid! ;)

When the player would get warm, the speed that the tape turned at could vary. By putting a match book in it, it seemed to correct this problem and play the tape at a constant speed.

Still have my original '89 5.0 Mustang with cassette tape.

I did notice my dub of the "American Graffiti" soundtrack is losing some [read: MOST] fidelity. Not sure if it's the almost 30 year old Ford "Premium Sound Package" - it's really just a normal run of the mill factory tape deck from that era - or the fact I've left the tape in the car nonstop for the last 20 years. And the original 1970's vintage BASF tape wasn't that high quality to begin with.

You should have rotated it with the "Dirty Dancing" and "Good Morning Vietnam" soundtracks. :)
