Random Thoughts VIII: The Ocho

All the credit to GTO for the avatar. If you are up here during some sporting season, I will try to use my connections to get you some tix.

Boxter--in your retirement, let me know if you want to make it down to any WBB. My parents ended up with 4 season tix again this year. Along with 4 volleyball. And 8 football. There are 2 of them (and 3 for football, my dad goes with 2 buddies and the women stay home).
Thanks, Birdy! Avatar looks amazing!

I agree with WDSM, hangovers, man.

Had fun camping and then tubing today. And brewery was cool. Got some odd sunburn marks again.

Ah, that's too bad. On the news they just said they were short by about 25. They didn't give the background.

Yeah, they gave out enough bracelet things to destroy the record by a couple hundred. Things took long enough that folks left instead of waiting any longer in line.

There were a lot of basic planning things that they just didn't bother to think about, like "what if the people actually show up?"

So with the house I used to rent from a friend of a friend, we paid $1500 for deposit towards the house. Here is his cost breakdown. Does this not seem like BS?

Deposit - $1500
2 doors - 180
Labor - $200
Cleaning - $100
Air Filter/Furnace Maintenance - $200
5 trips for leftover garbage - $300
1 trip to Goodwill - $60

Total Back $460

Seems like you left the place a **** hole.

The **** did you do to that place?

Really didn't at all. I could see the doors and whatever he wanted to charge for labor as he painted a few walls. Don't really get the 5 trips to the garbage costing $300. There wasn't that much stuff.

Also don't think Air Filter/Furnace Management is tenants responsibility.

Did you break the doors? Interior or exterior?

Labor - $200
Seems high, but hard to say for sure.

Cleaning - $100
If it was dirty this is probably legit.

Air Filter/Furnace Maintenance - $200
$200 for a furnace filter??? **** that guy in his ear hole.

5 trips for leftover garbage - $300
5 trips from the apartment to the dumpster? 5 trips from the apartment to the landfill? Either way, **** this guy.

1 trip to Goodwill - $60
1 trip to Goodwill costs $60 now? Burn his building to the ground with him inside.

MBB is our real want. Everything else is either covered or within our price range.

WDSM that is mostly BS unless you damaged the doors. From my understanding isn't the deposit to cover damages not normal wear and tear/maintenance?

Without more information, yes. I've never had anything withheld on a deposit, and this seems like it would require a lot of devastation to hit this level of cost.

The top 3 are probably legit. The bottom 3 are not. **** that guy.

The doors were in decent condition. The only damage was that they had holes in the top part where the stopper has gone through. I'm not upset at the doors even though those holes could have been there before.

Pretty pissed about $60 to take a few things a mile north to good will? Idk where he took the trash but I assume he took them to an apartment complex a mile down the road. **** for $300 he could've driven back and forth from his home 2 hours away 3 times for less than $300

I feel like labor/cleaning go hand in hand. We cleaned the **** out of everything upon move out. Also this doesn't even cover the $300 carpet cleaning I had to pay separately.
