Why is everyone so down on Thursdays Game?

That basketball has a wart problem! I don't want to know why.

This.

The game worries me to. Iowa is playing lose of late with nothing to lose, a lot to win Thursday by knocking off numbers 2 and 4. After ISU/Buffalo and watching the Iowa game on Monday, i'm convinced that this game is no gimmie.

I agree. I remind myself though last year THEY thought this would be an automatic Iowa romp without BDJ playing. Was exactly the opposite. I was way more worried going into that one than this one. Still always need to be concerned with rivalries. Also reminding myself we didn't have McKay in this game last year.

I think the Hawkeye football team has taken away some of the buzz from the Iowa side, but most ISU fans seem to be pretty pumped up for this game. I do kind of miss the late Friday night slot, brings back some fun memories of past games, but I can't blame them for switching to Thursday to give it more national exposure on ESPN2.

As fans, we have bigger fish to fry than Iowa. It will be a tough game as usual, but this year we expect to win. We are probably more focused on Okie and KU at this point.

There has never been a more convenient time for Iowa fans to not care about this game. Revenge this year will come in postseason success, or for Iowa, the lack thereof. Nothing pisses them off like months of dominant Iowa State coverage.

I think this is a more appropriate Bobble:

If there's lack of excitement (not sure I sense that), it may be the complete lack of interest right now from Hawk fans. Between pessimism over the basketball team and complete preoccupation with football, I'm not even sure they know we're playing.

And yet they'll all be up in your face if they find out they won. So many reasons to hate hock fans.

Well I'm going to be at work with no Internet access until break and no radio so that's why I'm not going crazy for it.

Man, reading this board, listening to sports radio, podcasts, friends, co workers, etc. nobody is excited for this game it seems?

Tickets are going unsold on here and stubhub.

We have a chance to pummel our in state rival at home. Is everyone preparing the nut cups? Is it because of no Fred? Is it our friends to the east doing so well in Football? A hangover from our football season?

Just seems so strange for the number 4 team in the nation.

They have become more realistic with the game this week. Before people were trying to make up a good portion of the yearly cost on this game.

My daughter has a band concert. I'm asking for a media blackout and no social media until a couple of hours after the replay is available. Solid plan.

There is no such thing as an unsold ticket here or stubhub. For those tickets to exist means they were already sold once. If some people are trying to capitalize on high ticket prices and can't sell them...no big deal. Maybe they are asking too much for those who don't already have to tickets to buy. Who knows. Fact is though, it is "sold out" and has been for a very long time.

I bet you're a blast at parties.

A band concert is not an acceptable excuse to miss this game. It at least needs to be a Tay Tay concert.

You have to admit this is exactly how ISU football fans act. Several of my good friends are big ISU basketball fans, but barely pay attention to football unless ISU wins, then I hear about it all week.

Can't even rip the school for the band concert, they probably picked the date before the game moved for TV.

Maybe to an extent but a healthy majority of our football fans still show up to the games even when we aren't winning unlike a certain school to the east during basketball season.....

Hey, they are holding out for pizza! There's a precedent.

ISU was putting 50k+ plus fans in Jack Trice for a horrible football team. Iowa isn't even filling up Carver half full this season

There are tons of school concerts tomorrow night. That's why we aren't going. I'm not going to the concert either but I don't want to go to the game alone.
