Press conference

I don't know who some of these people are, but here's a great shot of the faces after Randy asked his idiotic question.

Our lead sports reporter for the state's largest paper. He is both an idiotic and lazy reporter and most likely a Hawkeye fan (he is certainly not a Cyclone fan). I have been cutting him some slack lately because he didn't support a stupid one-sided, sources with an ax to grind column from another local reporter.

In the end, Fred Hoiberg just seemed to be shaking his head at his stupid questions in amazement.

Yet CW gushes over Randy. It's as if he sings country music or something.

If Campbell can't turn this ship around...hands are thrown up..cause I can't think of anyone outside of Saban or Urban Meyer who could. i would say this staff will recruit Ohio heavily as well. It's a 7-9 hour drive to Ames so recruits and families aren't that far away.

Oh, come on. It's a decent hire right now. He sounds like an impressive young coach. That's it. No need to start throwing this BS around. How can any Cyclone fan not be in wait-and-see mode right now?

Pollard did give some acknowledgment to Chiz in JW's interview. Pretty much said that he knows most of the fanbase hates him, but the things he did here he looks more at as incomplete. Assuming in reference to recruits?

One of the things that is always mentioned when a coaching change happens is that it at least brings the fan base 'hope'. And count me in on that new hope, as I agree with most of whats been posted here after reading articles about MC and now his presser. I really believe he sees this as 'thee' place he wants to be. Confident, whether its the MAC or the Big 12. Yet, does anyone else have that little voice going off in the back of your mind saying..."does he really know what he's getting himself into"? (Big 12 talent, tough place to recruit, brutal schedule). On the surface, I think he does.

one could say that about anyone we hired except a power 5 head coach. A power 5 coordinator wouldn't know what it was like to be a head coach.

I think campbell has a good chance to understand it.

I'm cautiously optimistic too. But Rhoads was unproven as a head coach. Matt Campbell has shown he can do it with his system. That means a lot in my book.

I like that he is regarded in recruiting circles as one of the best talent evaluators in the country.

Recruits and energizing the fanbase. He kicked off the season ticket rise that started bringing high average attendance numbers here.
