Good lord, and just like your Thompson comparison, you fail. Comparing Bruns or Sage to JW is nearly as bad as comparing JW to Thompson. Bruns was a (recent) Cyclone AA. Both are well respected football guys and could get into coaching if so desired. JW is a local sports guy turned play-by-play guy.

That's not the point. People thought it was crazy for even suggesting Pollard would seek input from people outside the AD. Of course they aren't the same. I wasn't sure if JW had a similar role that Pete Taylor did and Pete was highly respected in the AD with everything.

I still remain cautiously optimistic. Paul Rhoads sold me on his press conference in December of 2009. There are definitely positives about Cambell, but also a few concerns too. Excited for the start of 2016 season.

I'm cautiously optimistic too. But Rhoads was unproven as a head coach. Matt Campbell has shown he can do it with his system. That means a lot in my book.

My takeaway from the CPR press conference is he was in dire need of public speaking skills. He was obviously nervous, and got better, but Matt seems to be about as confident of a person as I've seen.

I thought that was hard to watch. You know Levi is excited about the possibility with Campbell, but is still pretty broken up about Rhoads (I know he was very close to Rhoads). It's like his mind or body didn't know what emotion he was supposed to be feeling.

If Campbell can't turn this ship around...hands are thrown up..cause I can't think of anyone outside of Saban or Urban Meyer who could. i would say this staff will recruit Ohio heavily as well. It's a 7-9 hour drive to Ames so recruits and families aren't that far away.

I know this is a trolling post but some people aren't in things for the money and reading about Matt Campbell, it sounds like he falls into that group. Clearly the money think would be worked out but I'd best Pollard or Parker told Campbell's agent the range that ISU was offering. But I think its certainly possible, he didn't know the exact amounts when he accepted the job.

When I lived just outside of Indianapolis it would take me about 8 hours to get to Ames. I'd imagine from Ohio it's a minimum of around 9. But still, it's drive able. If it's a night game, you could leave that same morning and still be fine to get some beers at a tailgate party before heading in for kickoff.

I hope this is the last time I see MC before he gets off the team bus for the UNI game next fall. He was handed the keys to Jack Trice, now we need to let him "PACK THE JACK" bus!! I like what I am hearing and seeing so far. Let him do his job know. I hate to say it but I am already looking forward to next season already!!!
