Most of the talk around Austin this week can basically be summarized as:

1) everyone's back on the Longhorn bandwagon after 2 straight wins
2) no one remembers that we played Texas to the last second each of the last 2 years
3) no one remembers that Iowa State plays in the same conference as Texas
4) no one knows what an Iowa is

With all the focus on ISU's offense this week, and with Texas back in the hunt for the bowl game and @Big12Refs in town after already screwing Texas over badly against OSU, I feel like one of the following outcomes is likely:

a) The "new offense" lays a complete egg and we lose something like 30-7. At some point in the first half, while the game is still close, an obvious, game-changing call goes against ISU. We receive a new addition to the apology wall.

b) The offense plays well but the defense, out of the spotlight this week, breaks at the wrong time and allows a game-winning drive in the closing minute. At some point in the drive, Texas converts a 3rd-and-13+ with the aid of an obvious, game-changing call going against ISU. We lose and receive a new addition to the apology wall.

In other words, I don't really foresee an outcome that doesn't involve a nutshot.

I feel like this game goes into overtime tied 28-28. I feel like ISU is due for a break, but history tells me they wont get it. Texas wins 41-38 in OT.

Netten hits a last second kick, after SBR brings us to FG range as time is expiring.

JL has 600 yds of offense and the back up plays the last 10 Mins end score 38 17 good guys

This is the outcome...

I think this game will be competitive. the new-look offense will not run wild over a good texas defense. I see it being something like 21-24 (we probably lose cus Netten misses a 30 yard field goal)

Make sure to add we will miss a FG in regulation to win.... But lose in OT, sound familiar???

In a clutch moment, Chris Francis calmly drills a 57-yard field goal through the south uprights as time expires to seal the Cyclone victory as the bench sprints onto the field in jubilation and Austin Fischer shows his best celebration yet.

Iowa State wins 73-0

Not everyone on the TX forums has that attitude that you're seeing in Austin

Love Iowa State in this spot:
ISU 34
UT 23

Something about Lanning and Warren and the move Paul made to"retake" the offense tells me it could be fun tomorrow.

Hope I'm right. Clone fans deserve a good Homecoming.
