I would be pretty happy if you told me I would be able to coach D-Rose, Pau Gasol and Jimmy Butler. That's some good offensive talent. Plus, since Thibs is gone, maybe he'll put some additional 3 pt shooters on the floor (McDermott). Mirotic and Duvleavy are options to stretch the floor as well. The Bulls have the capability of scoring more points but Thibs's offensive mind was horrible and had them run the same tired sets all the time and still ran Hinrich out there when he should have been playing younger players.

The few times I saw McBuckets play, he was far too much of a defensive liability to leave on the floor. Could have used some D league time.

Exactly, the Bulls had a great chance of beating the Cavs this year with a coach who was better on the offensive end. Even in game three, which they won on the Rose buzzer beater, their offense was terrible down the stretch, they ran four straight Rose iso's in the last two minutes that didn't produce a single good look. Thibs played Hinrich way too much, the Cavs just ignore him on the offensive end. He could have played Snell and McDermott a lot more in the regular season, guys who can actually shoot to get them ready to contribute later on but Thibs treated every game like it was a must win.

Interesting tidbit. Derrick Rose only played in 47% of the games that Thibs was coach. He was injured 53% of the time. IMO, the Bulls job is Fool's Gold.

I wonder if the T-Wolves are still in play with Chris' latest info. Flip must be thinking about it.

Found this thread from 2008 - http://cyclonefanatic.com/forum/showthread.php?t=35762

No images anywhere that I could find on the internets machine, they must have melted them down and destroyed all the evidence.

I give you...the McDermott coin!

Putting this here as I haven't seen a thread on it on the main board.

http://cyclonefanatic.com/basketball/mens/news/source-hoiberg-to-bulls-not-a-done-deal/

"Rumors that a “gentlemen’s agreement” has been in place between the two parties for months now are “100 percent false,” the source said. “That’s not even close to being true.”

This doesn't mean Hoiberg won't take the job or that he is leaning toward staying at ISU — only that as of Friday morning, no deal of any kind is already in place. "

That just sounds like damage control to protect an image.

I'm going with Chris working with Fred to drive traffic during a typically down period.

You assuming Hoiberg adds offensive flavor while keeping the same defensive intensity that help the Bulls win so many games? Hoiberg is a lot of things but "Defense" doesn't show up on the plus side of his ledger IMO.

Cleveland isn't going to stay as-is. Next year they will have Love or/and add another top shelf talent looking to win a ring.

James has been to 5 straight finals, and nobody in the East came close to beating them this year without Kevin Love.

Anybody else see the article from 2013 when Hoiberg signed his 10 year extension floating around today? I've seen it on Facebook twice and somebody sent it to me in a text all pumped that he's staying. Got excited for a split second the first time I saw it on FB but quickly realized it was old. A lot of people are falling for it apparently!

Yes, I have seen it too. Probably put out there by a hawk to continue to torment ISU fans.

I've seen it twice since lunch. Read the dates, people. Read the dates.

My mom texted me about it. I felt bad when I had to break the news to her that it was 2 years old...

It looks like they took the Chiz image, squished the neck and twisted it a little... I imagine the conversation between CSB and the artist went something like this:

CSB rep: So, that Gene Chizik coin you did for us, we need one for the new baseball coach, Greg McDermott.
Artist: Seriously?
CSB rep: Yes, we loved the first one!
Artist: CHA-CHING!

I find it hard to understand why people are convinced that Fred truly may be torn about whether he wants to give the NBA a try versus staying at Iowa State. Everyone is so eager to talk about conspiracies, lying, people screwing other people over. Almost all of this talk takes a lot of stretching to believe.

Sometimes the simplest answer is the most likely. Maybe Fred is having trouble deciding whether to take his shot in the NBA or stay at Iowa State. Its a major life decision. Huge ramifications. I'm sure he's given it a ton of thought, and maybe he made a decision in October or in March, but maybe, just maybe he still hasn't decided.

Life would be so much easier if everybody was addicted to CF like we are. I've seen a lot of people trying to reason with everyone else why he's staying and I don't have the killer instinct to crush their spirit. I'll just step aside and let it happen naturally.
