Maybe the $500,000 we get for Hoiberg's buyout can cover Hornacek's buyout. That would be sweet.
I thought we were already planning to spend that on Rhoads' buyout.

Pretty sure Fred carefully plotted his exact date of surgery to coincide, 6 weeks later, for a return to the office, just in time to accept the Bulls job.
Just saw this so I thought I would share....

"He also said health is Hoiberg's main concern right now.
"I think nobody knows what's going on right now, I definitely don't," Ejim said in a phone interview. "The biggest thing for him is to [be] healthy, and that's what he's focusing on there.""
""I think that it's only a matter of time," Ejim said. "When you are coaching or playing at any game you play, your goal is to get to the highest level. For him, the NBA could be his highest level. At the same time, he has a great opportunity to stay at Iowa State for a lifetime, I think. So we will see, but I think he is in a great spot with two incredible opportunities.""
""He's probably going through a lot of things right now," Ejim said. "I know there's been a lot of speculation. 'Why hasn't he come out, why hasn't he said anything?' I think the thing that people don't realize is that he is still recovering.""

So nothing new
I read it as that, and basically as "settle the **** down people".

lol @ zero ncaa experience. He's an NBA coach ffs. Honestly, I think Horn would do better as an ncaa coach. He's a good teacher, and no one in the nba wants to listen to their coach and they are already set in their ways. In college he can teach the game to players that are willing to listen.
Bill Self and Scott Drew. What do they have in common? Both had teams lose to Fred in the Big XII championship game.
I concur, he taught me how to shoot at Johnny Orr basketball camp and I remember his example and reasons why each mechanic was so important to this day 25 years later. While I never had the coordination talent or drive to fully implement I learned more from his 30 minute segment than I ever did from any coach I can remember or the entirety rest of the camp.
They have also been beaten twice by Fred's team at least once each in the last two years. They have also swept Fred in the regular season once a piece in the past two years
I was impressed by his ability to work both sides of the issue intelligently.
With that, he's not the boss of me.
Until I start seeing some "Hang Erik's number from the rafters" threads, I'm going to kind of assume that he is.
