Fred coaching for Reinsdorf. Look how he's treated Tibs who is one of the top coaches in the league. Is money really the issue here. I just don't see after having his 2nd open heart surgery that he'd jump to the high pressure, crazy travel, Longgg days of the NBA. I don't get what the attraction is for Fred.

I personally think that the stress of coaching, recruiting for the school you have loved as a kid would be higher than coaching in the NBA. A little piece of Fred died with each loss. Not because he is the ultimate competitor, but because he feels ISU deep in his heart. Couple that with dirty recruiting and you have his reasons. Part of me is fine because I feel like he'll come back someday. I'm guessing I'm wrong.

I don't think I really need to answer, but there needs to be a conclusion to this because it does affect recruiting.

I beg to differ. Fred could be the "Coach K" of Iowa State if he wanted. But I guess that's not what he wants?

Unfortunately the job may have been too close to his heart. Having two staid helpers alleviated some of the heartfelt losses. Last year he was missing the close helper IMO. The others on staff were young or not tough leaders so it fell more to Fred.

We weren't after any HS recruits when the Fred to Bulls rumors started like crazy. We weren't getting the big transfers reguardless because we don't have a starting job to offer.

anyone that has had their chest opens knows that you are very weak and tired for about 6 weeks past the procedure. Make life changing decisions and moves would seem extremely challenging during that time.

There aren't any players left that will be significant enough players down the line that missing out on them is doing harm to the program. This is much to-do over nothing.
