Well this could be interesting:

Im sure it will have some good laugh worthy moments, but I always liked the simple right up to the line without crossing humor. This will most likely be filled with played out gross jokes. Ill see it on streaming with low expectations.

True, but are based on the idea of a former movie

Yes. Definitely. However, Im a bit excited about the Mad Max, practical effects and awesome visuals in general are selling me on it. Plus....the over the top scifi stuff.

Apparently they can't think up new movie ideas anymore, have to remake old ones like this and Mad Max.

There are plenty of new movie ideas, that's not the problem. Problem is that the studios are filled with money-driven hacks who have zero balls and won't greenlight anything unless it's as close to a guaranteed moneymaker as they can get. That equals remakes and stupid, uninventive crap that plays to the masses.

To be fair though, they have had some major bombs on huge investments too. Absolutely its money driven, but you can see the reasoning of their hesitation sometimes. The overinflated salaries of actors these days doesnt help either.

You forgot to add...and Charlize Theron...

Totally agree.

And after watching the clip above, this movie looks pretty dumb. Good idea of following up with grown up Rusty, but the execution looks really bad. I remember the first Rusty being pretty cynical and a smart *****. Helms makes the grown up Rusty look like Clark the village idiot. Would've been better if they had Anthony Michael Hall come back (can't imagine the guy forgot how to do comedy) to reprise his role, and had his oldest son be the one who takes after Clark, vacation was his idea, or something. Have Rusty dealing with being in the middle of a generational Clark Griswold sandwich. From what the clip shows, I'm not buying Helms at all. But obviously he's the comedic flavor of the month so that's who they think will sell the movie.

Eh, looks like they're trying too hard with it, but i'll give it a watch at some point.
