New Vacation movie

Why is it lazy, though? If thats what sells, its not lazy, it smart. If you want to make money, you write a movie that is going to make money. If you're in it for the artistic aspect, then you don't have to make decisions about money.

Don't act like its a new thing though. Two of my favorite movies of all time and two of the best comedies of all time are Blazing Saddles and Airplane. Blazing Saddles has an entire scene devoted to a fart joke, jokes about rape, racism and all kinds of outrageous stuff, but its done well. Airplane has topless women, human excrement, drug use, allusions to pedophilia, abortion.

The fart scene in Blazing Saddles is far and away the least amusing scene in one of the funniest movies of all time.

This thread is a buzz kill...I love the original Vacation movies and I don't see this one as a flop. They aren't throwing a bunch of no names out there to make this movie...

Anyone else seen it yet? Saw this last night and while it wasn't great by any means I laughed out loud many, many times.

Saw it this week. A few laughs, but otherwise a huge disappointment. Too many scenes where they tried way too hard to be "over the top funny" but were the opposite. That said, if you're fan of Vacation movies like most of us are, it's worth seeing once ... on DVD or pay per view.
