Stats don't lie but you can sure make them say whatever you want...If you actually look into those numbers it helps the conspiracy theorists against Iowa State. Iowa State does a great job of not having penalties (top 25 in the country), yet they are almost dead last in yards per penalty. In relation, Iowa State opponents are almost the best in the country when it comes to yards per penalty. Don't take this post as me saying I'm a conspiracy theorist! I'm just pointing out the numbers.

That's the point. Iowa State kicked the on - side kick and recovered it. Kicker was ruled off-sides. Had to kick again and it was Baylor's ball.
Let's not forget the kicker being off-sides on the on-side kick at Baylor.
The kicker's plant foot is allowed to be offsides.

Well, then that call sucked.
Obviously, the B12 refs working that game were cheating for Iowa.

Reviews are a little different matter as not every school's play by play recap tracks reviews. ISU does for home games, but for the info we have in the last year and half ISU has won 1 review and lost 14. This doesn't include the @ Tech and @ KSU games year that may or may not have had reviews. The review ISU won was a call upheld - Jansen Watson's INT in the 2nd quarter vs. Kansas. From the games that track the info, ISU has not had a call overturned in their favor for the last year and half of conference games.
During this years Iowa game at the very end, Netten hits the FG (which was somehow ruled that he missed it). Replay angle looking straight up shows ball went through both uprights and he made it clear as day. Thank god, Kirk Ferentz called time out or we would have been screwed on that play as well. Announcers said they thought it looked good. Who knows how that would have turned out.
They weren't cheating for Iowa. What they did do was influence that sequence of the game due to their complete incompetence. The PI on that play happened 5 yards beyond the line of scrimmage but they picked up the flag saying it happened behind the line of scrimmage. You have 7 guys watching the play and not one of them knew where the PI was committed on the field? Don't they intentionally throw the flag (as close as possible) to the spot of the foul to "mark) where it occurred on the field? They couldn't figure that one out? It's literally impossible to screw that call up but I'll be damned... the Big XII officials managed to screw it up.
The more I see, the more it appears that college football is crooked across the board. Anytime you place somebody in a position of power that has ties to an interested party (i.e. the Big12 head of officiating) there is going to be corruption.
It happens elsewhere as well. A few years ago San Diego State had a call bungled on replay in a road game (I think it was against BYU when they were still MWC) that was just as bad as the ones we are all familiar with for ISU. Cost the Aztecs the game. Found out after the fact that the person making the decision in the booth was an alum of the home team. League rules allowed it to happen. More recently, the MWC conference just admitted to 9blown calls in the Aztecs game against Fresno State this week. One of them was a baffling replay review. Shockingly, it sounds like the crew in question also works Big12 games:

How do I verify these replay numbers?
Excellent idea! That'd be called journalism. Maybe even win a Pulitzer. Or quiet the Fanatics!Hey Chris, I think you need to get someone on your crack staff to do some research. How about an article on the statistics for the past 2 years of replay reviews in the Big XII or national. ISU really can look like a sore loser and perhaps we are biased only remembering the worst calls. Just look at the number of plays reviewed in your game, % of calls that are confirmed, stand as called, and reversed. Then look at how many went for or against ISU or Team X. This should pretty easily confirm a bias. This will be a large time investment I know, but just think of the potential page views.
