Some numbers to go with Pollard's claim

Iowa State has drawn 4 pass interference calls in the last year and half of Big 12 play vs. 18 being called on them. Last year the ratio was 1 to 13.

Reviews are a little different matter as not every school's play by play recap tracks reviews. ISU does for home games, but for the info we have in the last year and half ISU has won 1 review and lost 14. This doesn't include the @ Tech and @ KSU games last year that may or may not have had reviews. The review ISU won was a call upheld - Jansen Watson's INT in the 2nd quarter vs. Kansas. From the games that track the info, ISU has not had a call overturned in their favor for the last year and half of conference games.

There is only one time I can ever remember officiating truly going in our favor (to clarify, these were all absolutely the correct calls):

Assuming you're accurate on this, that is really surprising. However, I can only think of now 2 instances where the call was wrong; last year Texas, and yesterday OSU. Im sure Im missing some others, but that number is still astonishing.

Hmm, I know it won't happen but I wonder if the SEC west needs a new bottom feeder. We would drag their BBall and academics up a good bit as well.

I thought of this game yesterday to, with all the reviews. Absolutely all correct and we got every one of them.

I'd generally agree with the idea that the number is too simplistic, but it also doesn't take into consideration calls that could have been reviewed and weren't, like vs. KSU.

Wasn't it just last year where we didn't get a first down by penalty until like the 9th game or something? Also, I believe it was two or three years ago where our 1st opponent, UNI, had a holding call but no other opponent had one against us until the 10th game of the season.

I'm sure these are very typical stats though for every team.

How about that road game against UConn. I think it was their first or second touchdown. It was a run by I think their quarterback back that was initially called short of the endzone. All the replays were inconclusive until the last one they showed that clearly showed his knee down with the ball at least a yard short of the endzone. TOUCHDOWN UCONN!!!!!

I applaud Pollard for his comment. I'm sure it will cost us dearly (and I mean in future games), but we don't get the benefit of the call anyways. Regardless if we win or lose games as a result of calls these young men work just as hard as any other player no matter what name is on their jersey and they deserve better. When this continues to happens to has to break the spirit of the players.

UCONN had 1 penalty in that game, a 4th qtr offsides. Looking back at the refs in that game we had that asshat from Pella who did the Texas game last year (the fistpump guy).

If anyone watches our games they should just throw deep every play. Our guys get PI called on them about 50% of the time it seems. It's why we get beat at the end of games all the time. They start throwing the ball deep and we give up 15yds and a 1st down and stop the clock over and over and over again.

Can the refs from the '09 game at Nebraska combine with the refs from the 2011 game vs OSU and ref all our games, home and away?

Who is in the play review booth? Barney Oldfield? Seriously, a year and half seems a little long.

Still waiting for Mangino to call the plays....one problem we have is SR throws a low trajectory deep pass...he needs to perfect the high lob to Lazzard and Montgomery.

Those people have been reprimanded by the Big 12. It will not happen again.

Or which game was it, maybe the Texas game last year, where the spots were consistently +1 yard for them and -1-2 yards for ISU. That was easy to see in the replay. Do these people not know that DVR's exist and we have eyes too?

This is the worst aspect of football. Totally subjective

Yeah that was Texas. The spotter ref was the fist pumping Texas fan from that Colorado clip too.

I believe the last time we played A&M in Ames the spots were crazy bad. I believe there is a CPR gif that shows his dislike.
