Jeff Orr...Super fan?

If he was fighting badly for a much needed win, he doesn't completely screw his team by shoving a fan and getting a technical. His team would have been down at worst three points with 6 seconds left, plenty of time to try to extend the game. Instead he chose a different path that hosed his team.
I don't care if a a lot of people would have reacted the same way. There are a lot of people that are out of control morons sitting in jail because they lost their temper and hit someone; it doesn't mean it's OK to be that way.
Some of these fans want to think that they individually can do something to be part of the game (other than just cheering.) When a player reacts negatively towards the crowd, it gives credence to them that they affected the game in a positive way for their team. When that happens yahoos like Jeff Orr take it to another level. He's a target for every crowd from here on out because they know crowds got into his head before...they can do it again. As long as that "line" isn't crossed of imprperness then it's fine. Cyclone Alley wanting to make posters of Smart pushing himself as he flopped..perfectly fine in my opinion. But the Antlers of Mizzou making fun of another players sick mother isn't ok. But when a player reacts to whatever's being done to him in a bad way...the crowd thinks they've won. Would like to know if anything was said in the press conference about the ******* that was pushed. Has he been banished? Ok I just heard he self imposed sanctions on himself by saying he won't be coming to anymore Texas Tech games this year. Mighty big of ya.
No, Smart said he reacted that way because of being called a "racial slur" by Orr. That isn't true. He lied, pure and simple.
In a statement from Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby, he said, “Mr. Smart's actions were a clear violation of the Big 12 Conference's Sportsmanship and Ethical Conduct Policy. Such behavior has no place in athletics, and will not be tolerated. I appreciate the efforts of Oklahoma State University athletics director Mike Holder in addressing this matter, and believe this is an appropriate response to an inappropriate action.”
Sounds like the Big 12 finds the three games suspension to be adequate.
Orr did issue a public apology.
Smart is a flopper, which means his integrity is questionable. And the video replay doesn't appear that Orr mouthed anything like a racial slur. I wouldn't doubt he made the racial slur allegation up. I do believe alleging something like that should be considered slanderous.

Again, I'd like to remind you that an ISU player flipped off the fans of an opposing team earlier this year and several ISU fans were investigated for sending death threats to an opposing player last year in the same game where an ISU booster was one security guard away from physically assaulting an opposing coach. Pump the brakes on going nuts on the behavior of other fans. People do dumb things in every sports arena in this country.
As a piece of crap myself, Smart was justified in his actions. Deeply disgusting verbiage Orr threw out there.
They assumed it because Smart alleged it. And why would anyone doubt a flopper?

Oh please, because somebody flops to try to help win a basketball game his integrity is questionable? We've never had players flop or try to get away with something illegal that the refs don't catch to try to win a game? And a reporter on ESPN just reported that he was told by somebody from t-tech that a racial slur was used, but was quick to add that he didn't know what was actually said anymore than anybody else. You don't know that a racial slur wasn't used any more than somebody else thinking that it was, both have been reported. And it's good Orr has also issued a public apology, so time for people to move on. Somehow I doubt some fans will let Smart forget this though, even though he's rightly apologized for something he didn't start.
