Jeff Orr...Super fan?

Now we have the grey area. Do "contributions" to a parent's church count as pay? I still would not boo Cam Newton.

His shitbag coach on the other hand.....

Chizik must be booed vigorously. And, I totally agree with you on booing amateurs and was just kiddin' around with the question.

Again, I'd like to remind you that an ISU player flipped off the fans of an opposing team earlier this year and several ISU fans were investigated for sending death threats to an opposing player last year in the same game where an ISU booster was one security guard away from physically assaulting an opposing coach. Pump the brakes on going nuts on the behavior of other fans. People do dumb things in every sports arena in this country.

So I'm nuts because I don't like fans flipping the bird at student-atheletes or making death threats against against?

Ok, commit me to a mental institution.

Am I the only one disturbed by the fact that everyone just ASSUMED this guy used a racial slur
This. Assuming that a wealthy white man from Texas is a racist is just like assuming a poor black man from Chicago is a criminal. It's wrong and it's profiling. Just because people of certain race or region have a higher probability of taking part in a certain act does not mean that everyone does it. Give people the benefit of the doubt.

Ejim this year, Booker last year. It happens.

There is a huge difference between between what a 50+ year old fan in the stands did - flipping the bird to a student athlete, via his forearm, because he made a great play against his team, and what 20 year old student athletes did during in the heat of game while being taunted by opposing fans and later issued apologies.

The former is abject stupidity and fan behavior that is the grounds to be thrown out of Hilton, the latter is a momentary lapse of judgement by young college students.

Oh please, because somebody flops to try to help win a basketball game his integrity is questionable? We've never had players flop or try to get away with something illegal that the refs don't catch to try to win a game? And a reporter on ESPN just reported that he was told by somebody from t-tech that a racial slur was used, but was quick to add that he didn't know what was actually said anymore than anybody else. You don't know that a racial slur wasn't used any more than somebody else thinking that it was, both have been reported. And it's good Orr has also issued a public apology, so time for people to move on. Somehow I doubt some fans will let Smart forget this though, even though he's rightly apologized for something he didn't start.
I think his integrity is questioned. The evidence backs exactly what orr said happened. He pulled a flop on a racial allegation and fooled me for one. Perhaps his biggest flop yet. I feel bad quasi-defending him.

TIme for a "piece of crap" chant when in Hilton.

I wouldn't go that route as I think it's too distasteful. You should go with "Not so Smart" or "Double flopper". Part of me wishes you would dust off one of my old favorites "Worse than Baylor" because it's a classic and they did lose to Baylor at home heh.

After Orr's statement and TTU's video proof just released, I actually think Smart's lie of racism is worse then the shove. Sickening!

**** smart for making this a race thing to protect his ***. Orr will no doubt be receiving death threats over this, video proof or not. And the same for anyone that said orr should be beaten over this. Hopefully none of those idiots follow through on anything. I don't care if he's a jerk. Smart just made it so that he'll have to walk around wondering if any of the people that threatened to kill his racist ***, actually will.

Ditto your comment.

I defended Smart as well, but it is now very troubling to me that he may have completely fabricated the racial allegation - if this turns out to be the truth, then, this is more damaging to his integrity than the push of the fan itself.

Interestingly, the OSU press conference totally ignored the question of what Smart alleged this fan said and I think the media will pursue this question in the coming days.

Prior to this incident, I was thinking a modified "Left-Right" chant....just chant "Flop" for every step he takes...all game long (actual basketball action aside). Imagine the petulant little effer dealing with that.

Wow, I don't know. If calling him a "piece of crap" warrants him to go shove someone, calling him a "flopper" might warrant him to give someone in the student section a nasty charlie-horse.

I could get behind that..

He called him a "piece of crap" and it's very clear on the video. He was just ****** that they lost and someone called him something. Then he lied about it, but never apologized for lying.

Marcus Smart is nothing short of a flopper both in the game of basketball and other stuff. He doesn't like that someone called him a piece of crap, so he had to claim he was being a racist instead. The fan wasn't right for doing it, but Marcus Smart's antics are even worse after seeing a video with clear audio of what was said to him.

Marcus Smart probably has pretty low self esteem to go up to a fan and shove him after being called a "piece of crap."

I am just shocked, SHOCKED, that someone with the integrity of Marcus Smart would lie to justify his bad behavior! Almost as shocked as I was at how quickly half of this board was ready to call Orr a racist based on nothing but internet rumors!

Is calling a player a "piece of crap" nice? No. Is it a big deal? No.

I guess I'm in the minority here, but after watching the TTech GoPro video it seems pretty obvious to me that something else was said after "you piece of crap." The microphones on those are likely pretty directional and you can make out the words when it is facing towards the stands but right afterwards it is moved to the side then back towards the court. What was said afterwards I don't know, it may or may not have been a racial epithet, but I don't buy that Smart went from relatively calm to that level of rage from only "you piece of crap."

Doesn't mean that Smart didn't lie, but certainly doesn't prove that he did to me.
