Bubu Thread

This is completely unrelated to ISU or Bubu but related to the subject matter but have you guys seen the Outside the Lines report about the Missouri football players? It was too depressing for me to read on a Friday so I stopped after the first couple of paragraphs.

"We think the structure of having the highest court in our state be able to pick and choose cases is detrimental to our interests and will soon begin the process of ousting the judges by fair election."

Or maybe....

"We look forward to a validation of our brilliant decisions from the USSC."

That was totally screwed up. And lets be clear, even with what unreliability of the accuser it sure seems like what Bubu was involved in was a lot closer to that than a drunken hookup. Which, again, is why I'm amazed that the University screwed this up so much that Bubu looks less bad in all this than they do.

How are you coming to this conclusion. Drunken hookup seems by far to be the most obvious explanation at this point.

Re: Bubu back again

What's going on with Bubu? Can somebody summarize for me? I must have missed something.

Re: Bubu back again

I am convinced it was my lucky cookies that did the trick. My note to Bubu said not to share them with Pollard or Leath.

Re: Bubu back again

Leath and Pollard should put out a quiet Friday afternoon press release stating that they were wrong, and glad it is now resolved. Let's finally put this behind us.

It will be all your fault if the AG's office tries to declare Bubu ineligible for receiving improper benefits. The only hope is for you to send cookies to all CF posters to avoid the impression that athletes receive special treatment.

Re: More kindling for the Bubu dumpster fire...

I am against any boos, or stupidity during any basketball game. There should be no distractions from beating the opposing team. I hope the students have brains enough to figure that out. However, whatever Bubu did, and I have seen no evidence to determine what he did, it looks to me like he has already over paid for his foolishness, and now someone needs to make up the difference between what he did, and the suffering that society has inflicted upon him. I don't blame anyone, and certainly not the girl, since she has probably even suffered more yet, but certain people in the ISU administration need to reassess the situation, and have their moral compass updated, because they are obviously messed up.

When is the next Iowa game? I'll be throwing my full support behind the Hawks for the remainder of this basketball season. There is no way I can cheer for ISU if Bubu is allowed to play.

I couldn't finish reading it. It's beyond disgusting.

He isn't suing to.get back on the team he is appealing student dicipline using the process outlines by Iowa State for CoC. One of his punishments was being on the team. Because it is being appealed he requested a stay as he did with the BoR. Precedent isn't created when you are following policy!

Uh, McDermott is no longer ISU's coach.

Re: More kindling for the Bubu dumpster fire...

The problem is JP made it personal with his ill advised statement about BuBu and the district judge. To recruiters from other schools, it's going to be ISU's athletic director against innocent basketball player BuBu Palo. Not a stretch to believe that will hurt Fred's recruiting, and could spill into football as well. Leath and Pollard need to get this case settled asap and get it behind us.

I think the university did make it personal, and took the district court's ruling as an insult to the university's powers. But in no way did the public statements they made reflect that. The statements did, however, reflect complete and utter stupidity.

Re: More kindling for the Bubu dumpster fire...

There was absolutely nothing personal about that two sentence statement. You are just flat wrong.

I don't think he meant anything personal about it but PR 101 says you don't say anything that can even be misinterpreted that way.
