Georges' mother is white and so are her parents, mostly French and Italian. His father was born and raised in Senegal. His paternal grandfather was Senegalese and his paternal grandmother is a combination of French and Cape Cerdean.
I absolutely cannot wait to see Georges play for Iowa State next year. I love that he plays with/ against the best recruits in the country that are rated higher than him, and then goes out and scores 20-30 points on them! I'm not worried about his athleticism but I can't wait to see what he can do with a year or two of strength training to go with his skills! Good luck to Georges and safe travels when you move him in!
Thanks for the heads-up Alison! I actually just looked it up yesterday and saw the change in time/venue. I'm going to do everything I can to be there....but I'm not 100% sure since I have to work a little before that. If I make it, I'm sure you'll recognize me, because I'll wear some ISU gear.....and I'm guessing there won't be a lot of it there.
That's understandable. But no matter what people say on this website we are all excited to get Georges onto campus and into a Cyclone uniform. Hope he has a great year and stays healthy!
There are certainly many more important issues and problems that we see in the world of today, I'm not going to minimalize that fact, but, I am sorry that you and your family had to go through this realignment stuff.
I am sure that Coach Fred doesn't care one way or the other, the guy would/will play his Cyclone basketball team anywhere, against anyone,
but we would all prefer the Big12 and BCS.
Hoping everything is well with you and yours.
