Mark Cuban is considering Drafting Brittney Griner

I think this would be awesome. Might actually get me to watch the NBA again. Of course, if they did this, they'd also have to start offering The Intercontinental Championship belt as well as the tag team champions' belt, because they'd be right there with the WWE in terms of "sports" Entertainment.

What position would she play. The only position she knows is center. Good luck against the 7 footers in the league. Are you going to play her at the 3 spot? Anyone can take her off the dribble everytime. It wouldn't work.

Just look at how many physically talented players can't make it in the league. Just yesterday, a certain poster was mocking Booker hiring an agent, suggesting he could never make it in the NBA, and he is 6'10" and built like a truck.

Long story short, there is no shortage of 6'8" forwards out there who want to play in the NBA and have twice BG's athleticism and strength.

It will not happen. Waste of drafting. She/he could not handle the inside game of the nba.
 
This is a publicity stunt, nothing more. They would get some press, sell some tickets, and then she would get absolutely posterized in a game and that would be the end of it. I would bet that I will never see a woman have a meaningful NBA career in my lifetime. The way the game is played and just the simple issues of biology will prevent this from ever happening.

Let's face it she couldn't handle any part of the NBA game. She can't handle the ball enough to play outside, she can't move laterally to defend on the perimeter, she can't elevate enough to block anyone in the post, she can't elevate enough or have enough post moves to get a shot off in the post, she doesn't have enough meat on her bones to defend in the post or to post up in the post. She doesn't have a consistent outside shot to play on the perimeter.

It's just Cuban being Cuban.

If she has even the least amount of brains she will go to the WNBA team that drafts her and play as long as she wants in that league.
 
Not a totally unprecedented publicity move. Ann Meyers, although not drafted, did sign a contract and get a tryout with the Pacers back in the day. Cuban won't actually do it though, he knows he can get the publicity for free just by talking about it.

He said it last night before the Lakers game in LA, where the Lakers were retiring Shaq's number, and prior to the Mavericks getting knocked further out of playoff contention.

As somebody mentioned early in the thread...this was nothing more than an attention ***** move.
