I hope Neb, aTm, and Mizzou get pisspounded forever. Oklahoma is staying, and Mizzou knew this for a month now. I'm not that mad at Okla.

Go ahead Mizzou. You have a worse chance at winning the SEC than the Big 12. Have fun with that. You will regret this decision in ten years, and the Big 12 will be even better with the additions of BYU, WVU, Louisville, and Cincinnati.

Yes, but Oklahoma is only staying because the pac shut the door on them. And them dragging their feet has lead us to where we are now. If they had stayed committed, we could have had other teams added by now.

You are sticking your head in the sand if you think this is not a big deal for ISU.

Replacing Mizzou with West Virginia is a significant downgrade for academics, proximity to ISU, loss of TV market value and loss of a traditional rival. Fox would be justified in asking the new Tier 2 contract being voided or renegotiated at a lower price.

We have yet to lose Mizzou. Maybe they leave, maybe they won't.

Replacing Mizzou with WVU (which is what would happen) is better than the Big 12 dissolving.

Texas markets and OU will keep our contract large. Add in BYU and you bring a large market in SLC and a nationwide Mormon audience. Louisville and Cincy bring similar sized markets to St. L and KC. WVU's revenue programs are more successful than Mizzou's.

I'd rather not lose Mizzou, but it's far from the end of the world. Then again, as long as ISU is in a major conference, I don't really give a flying **** about anything else in all of this.

Deaton resigning is the end of Mizzou in the Big 12. The next question is is this the death blow for the Big 12?

I guess... but Mizzou has know for a month now that Okla is staying. No need for this IMO. But, fact is SEC has 13 and needs 14. That team has to come from somewhere. Have fun getting your *** kicked.

SEC will play what the PAC did now and say they were planning on moving forward with 13 and didn't anticipate expanding any more but Mizzou approached them so they are doing due diligence and investigating if there is mutual interest.

No way SEC planned on staying at 13. If they do say that, they must think we are all idiots.

I'm pretty sure Oklahoma State authorized their president to act on conference realignment issues after the Pac 12 said no. This does not necessarily mean that they are gone, it's just not the greatest sign in the world.

Authorizing the president to act on conference issues isn't a big thing (Geoffrey has that power). But after a meeting that goes two hours late and after the past few weeks? That's a much different situation.

This will completely isolate us from all borders with the big 12.

Not Good.

That means only one thing.

The state of Iowa must invade either Missouri or Nebraska to maintain open routes to friendly territories. :wideeyed:

We need to black-ball these schools that leave... They cannot play any B12 team in any non-conference game in any sport. Screw 'em. Kansas should say FU to MU!

Deaton resigned from the B12 Board to avoid a conflict of interest. It is foolish to assume that his resignation automatically means they are leaving.

Watching Mizzou prostitute itself the next few weeks should be interesting. We all know they aren't afraid to put themselves out there.
