Starting our own conference called the Independent Conference. It will be BYU, Notre Dame, Army, Navy, ISU, and potentially Texas.![]()
Only if we vote for unequal revenue sharing that benefits ISU the most!

All is well.....All is well
Dr Gene Lloyd (the lloyd who's name is on the side of the VET MED addition) just told me that He, JP, GG, Harkin, Grassley and 3 or 4 US House members were all in a suite up in the pressbox Saturday and they met again yesterday. I ask Dr. L if the Big XII would survive and all he would say was "change is good" and "we will be more than just alright." He's 87 and sharp as a tack and is NUTS about ISU. Quietly given millions upon millions. While telling me this, his smile was one of great satisfaction. You can take this or leave it but it made me feel a whole lot better.
He also said that looking at the new scoreboard is difficult from up in the upper pressbox, have to bend over to see it.
That ship has sailed.
That still doesn't make it stable. There is still the bold fact that 3 schools have left in 2 years.Likely. Then again, that ship sailed last year and somehow returned to port.
Nothing's over until it's over.
That ship has sailed.
I hope something does transpire soon. I actually had difficulty enjoying tailgating last Sat wondering about all of the negative possibilities.

My bold prediction...Missouri, KSU, KU, and ISU join the Big 10 to form the first 16 team football conference, Texas goes independent, and the remainder of the Big 12 south schools either join the SEC or Pac 12.
I'm glad our elected reps are getting involved, regardless of how much or little they can actually do.
The ultimate fact remains. There are schools that stand to lose a lot more than even the biggest $ makers stand to gain.
When it comes to Academic Institutions, this should set off a Red Alarm (or Tornado Siren in our case) The ramifications for being left out of a BCS conference would be catastrophic. Enrollment, University Status, Research $'s, and on and on could be affected. (it may not happen within 2 years but it would landslide over the course of 10-20 years)
The other sad fact is that Geographically, Academically, & Culturally we are situated right in the middle of an ideal conference (Big 10) but the hunger for $'s will prevent that from happening. Take $ out of the equation (and mindless hawk fans with an axe to grind) and Iowa State would be a perfect add to the Big 10.

That would be the ideal scenario. Legends and Leaderscould dissappear and the logical East and West divisions would form. The B10 would pick up the entire Midwest and maintain their "Academic Integrity". (with the exception of maybe K-State)
