I like your posts...but that creepy DJk **** has got to go.

Lol, if I hadn't taken that picture myself, it wouldn't be my avatar. But, I'm also a guy that doesn't like change all that much. I like having an avatar that has kind of an instant recall, and I've had this one for quite a long time now.

If we add a Texas school it pretty much tells you how much power the collective of everyone except Texas has....zero. Which we already know.

Texas doesn't want another Texas team in conference, as I see it. They could have brought Houston, rice or TCU with them the first or second times around. Why would they want to further legitimize them as rivals?

Would we want to bring uni into our conference? Would Iowa want to bring us into b10?

We might add a Texas school but I don't think it would be because Texas wants it. I hope we don't because I don't think one adds anything to conference. Just another mouth to feed.

I hope phones are ringing at BYU and ND. Join us and keep your 3rd tier rights for your own network!

Report: Texas A&M to join the SEC - CBSSports.com

AggieYell last year said it was a done deal that A&M was gone to the SEC. I'm sure the deal is about done, but a lot can happen between now and their regents meeting on August 22. Politicians can get involved, regents might reneg to keep Texas on the schedule, or maybe Dan "The Natural" Beebe pulls another rabbit out of his hat.

Boomer says OU Rivals site says "If the luring teams to the Big XII does not happen, Texas will rework ESPN or drop it entirely & OU/Texas/Tech/OSU will join Pac12."

Then why the hell not drop the ESPN contract now and save the big 12 and stop the insanity?

Per the OU Rivals Site:

Big Ten has eyes on OU/Texas (OU wont go leaving OSU behind)

OU/Texas will try to bring name teams to the league.

If the luring teams to the Big XII does not happen, Texas will rework ESPN or drop it entirely & OU/Texas/Tech/OSU will join Pac12

I don't know whether to be encouraged or discouraged by this....I like that OU is trying to lure teams to the conference, but I don't think that any "name" teams would be interested at this point....and is BYU a name team or are Texas and OU going after ND and Arkansas? (which has almost zero chance of happening)

Not sure if you guys realize that all the talk is that SEC will poach another ACC team, who will then poach the Big East, leaving the Big East with 4 open spots to get to 12 instead of three. I don't know if all the dominoes would fall in a row to make that 4th open spot available with the others, but that is something to think about.

Most informed college sports analysts suggest that eventually there will be four 16 team superconferences. The thought is that the PAC 12, BIG 10, SEC, and ACC will form those conferences. In order for this to happen these 4 leagues will be poaching from the Big East, Big 12 and each other. As a result I don't think the Big East is a viable option as many of its teams will end up in the ACC or possibly the Big 10. I can't say that I have any great ideas on what we should do based on this scenario, however it just seems the Big East will soon be going down a road that are getting to know all to well in the Big 12

An absolutely awful move for their football program.

Why? Why is it an awful move? Do people honestly believe that Texas A&M couldn't compete in the SEC? Really? So teams like Arkansas and Ole Miss can be successful but not Texas A&M who has unbelievable talent in their state?

If the ultimate goal is championships they were much better off in the Big 12 than the SEC. They were only competing with Oklahoma and Texas each year for the Big 12 title. In the SEC they will be going up against Florida, Auburn, LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, and Tennessee. I see all of those programs and probably Georgia as more likely to get to the SEC title game and actually win the conference than A&M.

They're closer to a BCS berth here than an SEC championship berth there.

Really? South Carolina was in the SEC title game last year. Your telling me that South Carolina last year was that much better than A&M? It's not a great conference but do you really see programs like Tennessee, Georgia, Ole Miss, Vandy, Kentucky, Miss State, Arkansas as being better than A&M right now? In the future?

I think their recruiting improves too. Guys that want to stay in Texas but play in the SEC. Best of both worlds

A&M could compete in the SEC. They won't be year-in and year-out contenders, but they'll be a strong team. That league will really ignite that program I think and recruits will flock their in droves.

In that scenario, we are likely completely out of the megaconferences. MWC, MAC, C-USA would probably be the likely home for us. I would say C-USA would make the most sense geographically speaking or basketball wise.
