Paul Clark on KXNO

I think you, and Perrault, are waaaayyyy off base.

Perrault took delight -- make that shear delight -- when he kept saying that ISU could be heading into a non-BCS conference after Nebraska and Colorado bolted for different conferences. He seemed to take great pleasure in the prospect that ISU would have to play in the MAC. He LAUGHED at that prospect. LAUGHED. Or should I say, "giggled like a school girl." Hence his nickname on here. You don't LAUGH at a situation that could have been extremely damaging. It's like laughing a funeral. The guy has no couth

That's the day I quit listening to KXNO.

I can handle truthful, unbiased criticism of ISU, and I think 99.9 percent of Cyclone fans are the same way.

Perrault is trying to draw a parallel between the way one kid with **** in his ears (cycloneworld) took Clark's comments, to how almost everybody takes his comments.

Throughout the Big 12 break up crisis, Paul was consistent in saying that Iowa State's overall strength as a school would keep it in some major conference. He had info throughout on Big East negotiations, since confirmed by Big East officials.

I just listened to the podcast of yesterday's Matt and Miller. Perrault actually had a good point that unless people on the radio or in the media are Cyclone sunshine pumpers and worship at the shrine of JP, part of this fanbase will hate them. You say the littlest thing negative and a thread is started on here. I agree with him

Every fanbase is like this. I'm sure there are people on his Creighton board just like this. Once he is no longer making money promoting their team he will say the same things about them.

And that shows just how little Perrault knows about sports radio and fanbases. Every fanbase has a portion that will get ****** if someone in the media says something negative about their team. It doesn't matter if it's pro or college. Go look at Ohio State's message boards. They basically have a hate list of media members who even dare to chose another school over theirs. They follow the AP poll and call out the voters who don't vote them #1. And this is freaking Ohio State.

Now look at idiots like Perrault, who talk negative about a local market team as one of the main themes of their show. The same idiot then can't believe a portion of the fanbase gets upset about that. To put it in his east coast mind frame, he thinks acting like a Boston Red Sox fan is what Yankee fans want to listen to, and the Yankee fans are idiots if they get ****** about it.

Also, if Hawk homer John Hinton says this on KXNO there would be a **** storm on CF. But Clark says it and it's ok? Well it not ok to me.

My guess is many of his defenders pay for his website. Maybe they feel bad because they can get that info and more for free on CF?

Maybe you need to quit being such a baby.

I'm all for helping out charities, but how about having them clean the stadium after games and leave food service to the professionals. They can still earn their money and cleaning up after games doesn't hold up the paying public.

Win-win.

Jamie Pollard - if you read this board...you are welcome.
I am just trying to point out that even with untrained charities, the service is not much different than other stadiums I have gone to except baseball. In baseball, people have 14 planned extended breaks in the action. Football they have 3. A majority of fans in football go during the quarter breaks. And really if you are going at halftime you will be waiting in line. It is what happens when half the stadium all goes at the same time. I know I have never waited over 15 minutes for anything.

People are really ******** about 2-4 minutes if they are ******** about waiting in line. There isn't a stadium in this world that will serve you at halftime without you waiting in line.

Now if product is out, that is another story. That is not acceptable, but I have yet to run into that personally. Then again, I usually just buy a coke and a pretzel/nachos/popcorn. What is funny is when opposing teams fans come on here and discuss how great the concessions are.

Amazingly, I here a lot of the saem people complain game after game after game about concessions. I often wonder, how I can attend a game and have no issues but these people have an issue every single time.

Seriously taz? You have seen fans coming over here to CF to discuss how great the concessions are? I hope somebody would knock my block off if I would go to the Sooners board after this weekend and gave them props for their spectacular concession services.

I have been to Baylor for a basketball game and thought the popcorn tasted like it was popped the previous night. However, I didn't think I needed to go to their board to let them know about that.

Thankfully CF does not require you to pay to participate. I appreciate that Chris.

With Cyclone websites, cost does not equal "getting what you pay for".

Being honest about a fanbase/team is completely different than being disrespectful to a fanbase/team.
That's my main point of contention with Perrault, his attitude comes across as gleeful when discussing it versus Paul matter of factly giving his thoughts. It's like he relishes every second.

I don't know if I've seen it on here, but again, there was a thread on Utefans talking about how great our concessions are.

I didn't like the lines we had during the Texas Tech game, but I've enjoyed the food our stands serve. We're really getting a nice variety.

I'd like to see that variety split up a little more between the different stands, so that more items were universally available, but that's not the biggest problem in the world to me.

I just find it sad he needs to use a message board for on-air content.

I think GC has said a mouthful here. If that hack was worth half his salt he wouldn't be trolling message boards for the topics of his shows.

Please, please, please, everyone. Unlike cancer, if you ignore this irritation, it will go away!

It was actually on Utah's utefans board. Grass is always greener. I just generally think some people like to complain. Waiting in line for concessions is going to be the same at and stadium. Especially if you go out at halftime. Why people think they should be able to walk up to a concession stand with 20k other peopleand get immediate service, is beyond me.

Yeah, kinda funny. MLB playoffs, NBA preseason, NHL preseason, NFL, college basketball practices starting, college football... basically the best time of the year when it comes to sports and the POS has to pick fights with local media in order to stir up listeners. Just goes to show it is a sloooow week when the hoks don't play and creighton hasn't started yet.

Oh please. At the halftimes when I've gone, they haven't even stocked up food ahead of time and are out of some items all togther. The staff is woefully small - shouldn't they anticipate high numbers of customers at halftime?
If you have no complaints, fine, but don't try to psycho-analyze others...

So wait...they are supposed to staff up during halftime then down the rest of the game? Think about that for a second. Seriously? Like I said before, if they are running out of stuff that is legit complaint but people ******** about waiting in line at halftime are just complaining to complain. You will not find one other stadium in the country were you will not have to wait at halftime. Not one. Go to a baseball game in between innings and you will have to wait. Go to any football game with a stadium 75%+ full and you will have to wait. Complaining about waiting in line at halftime is ridiculous.

And like I said, I have never ever waited 20 minutes in line at Jack Trice. I am not sure where people are all going but it isn't above our section.

I haven't read posts complaining about waiting - it's the long waits. Maybe I'll re-read the thread.
I worked concessions at both Hilton and now-JTS when I was in school. Gee, everyone knew that halftime was "showtime" - it's when we made money - hello? Management was always there to expedite cokes and stock up for the rush. I don't see any organization now. They seem surprised at all the people! UNI was a total disaster, sorry.
I assume that Levy is like all concession companies - they give ISU a royalty check off their sales. In that case, a lot of money for ISU is being left on the table, because walk-offs are constant.

Where is your section? Because I could go out to my car, fire up the grill, and make a few hotdogs for myself in the time it takes to get one from the concession stand on the SE side.

I'll say it again. We need vendor folks in the stands. Selling sodas, candy, pretzels. Anything that doesn't have to stay hot. Would help out a ton.
