Paul Clark on KXNO

Nice that a moderator of a sight can post comments about an owner of a competing site that are so inaccurate they are borderline libel. I would encourage anyone to actually listen to the pod cast on what was discussed.

Paul Clark is not a "supporter" of Cyclone Athletics. But he is a fan. he wants what is best for ISU. If he was a supporter then he couldn't contact and talk to recruits. He is an actual journalist.

ISU has issues with game day experiences. Not talking about it does no good.

My God, we finally got a day that wasn't all Hawkeyes and people still *****.

This thread is ridiculous.

Also, if Hawk homer John Hinton says this on KXNO there would be a **** storm on CF. But Clark says it and it's ok? Well it not ok to me.

My guess is many of his defenders pay for his website. Maybe they feel bad because they can get that info and more for free on CF?

I admittedly do pay for his site. Could you please direct me to the football recruiting info located here at CF. Because that is what I pay for on CR and don't get here. If I could get it here I might not pay anymore.

Subscribing to Rivals is well worth it, IMO. Being a part of CF is well worth it also. There's a place for both as a Cyclone fan.

And Paul didn't say anything bad. He did a very good job today. I actually liked him more than I thought I would considering the things I disagree with that he posts on his site. You are overreacting, plain and simple.

Nobody from CF is saying to not subscribe to Paul's site. There is no bad blood between Paul and me. Yes, CycloneWorld is a moderator on our site but he in no way, shape or form represents the owners of this website or me.

Just throwing that out there.

Having two Iowa State sites is a good thing for Iowa State. This whole CF vs. CR thing is stupid and ridiculous and in no way do I condone it.

You do know he can't recruit for ISU right? Tha would be an NCAA violation. He asks questions as any responsible journalist can and will do. Questions like...
How did you like your visit?
What stuck out about ISU?
Where does ISU stand?
Why does it rank where it does?

Seriously, you need to read an update or two. And if you think a) Paul was trashing ISU or b) Paul would trash ISU to a recruit...you are not thinking straight.

Settle down I was playing devils advocate. I know he doesn't recruit for ISU.

I pay for CR for the sole reason in that UNIguy4cy doesn't post there. If he starts, I may stop using the internet all together.

In all seriousness, CR is nice because it offers better recruiting info (as do almost al rivals sites compared to free sites) and I dont have to deal with hawkeye idiots all the time.

nothing against CF, because it too is a great site and offers me things that CR doesn't.

just sayin'

Not sure where you got some of this.

Paul said that JTS is a great stadium and there isn't a bad seat in the house, other than the first row of end zone seats.

He said that there are certainly some passionate fans that center their entire weekend around football games, but not as many as the programs to the east and west of us.

Ric was the one bagging on concessions (but isn't it the truth?), Paul said he's never bothered with concessions while at games.

And he never said anything about the game day experience sucking. Ric alluded to it. Listen to the podcast, if they post it.

I seriously wonder where some of you guys get the stuff that you whine about on boards like this. Its what makes me take everything on this board with a grain of salt.

another case of the OP having a different opinion of PC (it works the same way over there) so he only hears what he wants to hear and then translates what happens to go thru his mind.
Needless to say it was not accurate but better to move on..........

Or you could be just incorrect yourself.

I've never been on his site.

Im listening to the podcast now.
PC just mentioned how if you look at our football team's success to the fan support ratio, we are among the best in the nation. Success to support ratio.
That is the point I always make. Its such a valid thing to consider. Our fans catch too much heat around here imo.
Considering the success, or lackthereof, of our football team over the years, I think our fans do a pretty good job supporting the team. Plus we are second fiddle in a small state.
All things considered, I thought the stadium looked pretty darn good last Saturday night.

I'm in love with this thread. :)

I complained to JP about the concessions on last Monday's radio show - he said he is happy with Levy, and that they are helping ISU, along with Purdue and some other schools, with a more inclusive AD-wide marketing/promotion plan.
I don't know what that has to do with poorly-trained personnel and less-than-sufficient food inventories.
I would think ISU has the authority, after they run out of hot chocolate, soft pretzels, etc., at halftime, to order Levy to stock more for the next game...
it is pretty well known that charity groups man the concessions. Becasue of this, you do not get people that are paid to work strictly concessions

understanable. There is one guy making crazy comments who drew the wrong conclusions and obviously didn't listen very closely. everyone else thinks some guy that owns a website does a better job than some guy that does radio for a living. But then comprehension is your strong point.

BTW- I could tell you why the economy affect ISU more than iowa but i doubt you want to here it.

I got a bottomless Coke before the opening kick-off. I asked for a lid for it and was informed that they were out at that stand. How do you run out of something before the game has even started? That is not on the staff working at the stand; that is a poor operation that is not prepared for the most basic elements of serving their customers.

I'm sure Levy is in there for one reason; low bid. They will give the AD the best margin in the short term but long term sales will suffer and ultimately so will the AD's bottom line.

I'm all for helping out charities, but how about having them clean the stadium after games and leave food service to the professionals. They can still earn their money and cleaning up after games doesn't hold up the paying public.

Win-win.

Jamie Pollard - if you read this board...you are welcome.
