Last year in College Station a young boy (probably around 10 or 12) decided to sit down in the middle of the 3rd quarter. His own father heckled him until he stood back up.
It was awesome.
Wow, I cant believe how angry people are AT OTHER CYCLONE FANS. Do you ever think that people stand becuase that's just their style of cheering and not just to make you feel like they are better than you.
I stand because honestly I love the game so much that I am literally too excited to sit down. I don't do it all the time but there are many times during the game that I realize that I am standing and didn't even remember standing up (this even happens when I am sober). I try to look behind me in these times to see if I am annoying someone and if I am I sit back down but I cant guarantee that I'm not going to stand back up later. Last year at the bowl game I stood almost the whole time and nobody else in my section did. Luckily I had a aisle seat so I slid over so that I wasn't standing directly in front of me. Unfortunately at JTS that isn't possible for me.
I try to be respectful of eveyone at the game but at the end of the day I am just excited to be at the game because I love football and I LOVE THE CYCLONES!!!!!
Uhh, I attended the last ISU/TAMU game. I was decked out in ISU gear, but was the guest of the parent of an Aggie pleyer. We sat on the 35 with the Aggie players parents.
Half stood, half sat, and most only stood on 3rd downs, key plays, etc.
Time to get reality into the discussion.
Carry on.
The Chiefs fans stand most of the game. Arrowhead is considered to be the closest to college of any NFL venue. It is also the most intimidating. I noticed fans standing outside the students section and thougth it looked pretty awesome. Stay home if you frown on this.
Sad thing is, even in a win - Cyclone fans were seek out something to complain about. I swear it's a subliminal message hidden in our logo or something.
My house was actually on fire, thanks jerk.Speaking of "sad".....and not to derail, but it must be some kind of right of passage for Cyclone fans to see who can get out of the parking lot the fastest. If one had no idea the score...they would think the Clones were getting their butts kicked by looking at the stands late in the fourth quarter. Come on......try to stick around when they are winning. There are no prizes for the first one out of the parking lot, your grandma wasn't just hit by a bus.....and your house isn't on fire. So relax and enjoy.
No apology needed, you were just discussing the topic.
(I will try and be nice unlike the person who wants to block a 10 year old seeing the game just to stay standing)
A&M is like any other school, the students and corp stand, othew are up and down. They have more standing than other schools, but they have the same debates we do.
I have no problem with standing up for big plays, but there are people that ARE affected by people that stand the entire game. I was sitting next to my 10y\o sister last night who was telling me she had a very hard time seeing anything anytime people were standing. If the people around you dont have a problem with it, its fine, but its incredibly selfish to make others do the same just because you want to.
