Hamilton Considering Cal, LSU, Virginia

so, he lied as to why he wanted out. surprise, surprise! We all knew it was BS, and the real reason is the coaching staff anyway. no mystery here, just like the rest of the guys who have bailed.

We are going into year 5 of the McDermott regime, we have two returning post players, and one returning starter coming back from a 4 win conference team. How's that for stability?

These schools all seem so random. I don't think it can get anymore random. I'm curious to see where he ends up. Cal could be interesting because I'm thinking we'll get them at home next year, possibly with Ham on the bench.

This makes Mac look bad. As you notice KG and cymydog aren't on here to spin this...maybe they aren't sure what is going on.

It is one thing to go play at BYU, buit Cal, Virginaia, LSU in nthree other major conferences is a real kick in the pants. JP has to be concerned.

Exactly.... How is LSU and Virginia closer to home then Ames????

Wait.. Didn't you get that memo yesterday, he is coming back according to Cysimydog and KG. So what is the truth???

I said there was a possibility, that's all. Please don't put words into my mouth.

No real surprise here, this kid had very little bball background and now that he's developed for a few years and has shown nice potential I'm sure he's getting more attention than he got during his original recruiting.

Question, when his transfer was announced, was there a quote from Hamilton at all that said he was homesick or was that just how the school was spinning it? I recall that when Wes originally transferred I think it was also said that he wanted to go somewhere closer to his home.

I think all the homesick talk is just something that McD and his guys put out there to take pressure off of them. What a joke. I realize it's not going to happen this year, but the sooner we are rid of this loser the better.

Exactly!

Two years ago I would have been calling Hamilton out for this, similar to what I did with WJ. Now, I'm to the point where I cant blame the kid for wanting out, and in hindsight, commend WJ for jumping ship when he did.

Probably. But don't be dumb enough to put it in your press release and say he is transferring to be closer to home in interviews...it makes Iowa State look stupid.

Maybe that is his intent. If he said he wants to play closer to home, and then is looking at options that are 2x as far away from home as he is right now, it says something is really, really ****ed up, regardless of what the sunshine-up-your-arse insiders say. Of course, we know that they're only agenda is to protect those close to them, rather than looking at the truth of the situation. Can't wait for them to show up and tell me I'm wrong about that.

But McDermott is the right man for the job! All the people who have personal relationships and something to gain by him staying the ISU coach will tell you so!

why is it necessary to call them out in this thread? Are they obligated to post by 8:30 or you can take a steaming pile on them?

No doubt. We're a freaking farm system.

This is what you said:

Just an FYI, but ISUPOKER's post appears to be on point. There is a distinct possibility that Justin Hamilton will come back next year, something that I think is a very good thing. Remember, this is a 19-20 year old kid who got homesick, something no one can blame him for

You said there is a distinct possibility of Hamilton coming back.

From distinct - Dictionary definition and pronunciation - Yahoo! Education...

Here are some definitions for distinct:

1) Readily distinguishable from all others; discrete: on two distinct occasions.

2) Easily perceived by the senses or intellect; clear: a distinct flavor.

3) Clearly defined; unquestionable: at a distinct disadvantage.

4) Very likely; probable: There is a distinct possibility that she won't come.

5) Notable: a distinct honor and high privilege.

Please notice #4. From the above blog, it would appear the possibility of Hamilton playing for ISU next near is certainly not "distinct". On the level of "distinctness", I would put it on par with the possibility of me, at 44 years of age, coming back and playing for ISU...

In any case, if his issues are dealt with, ISU could certainly use him back on the team...

What is going on behind closed doors??

Is it so bad that sitting out a full year is better than staying in Ames?
