JJeff Injury Updates

We should get a much better idea later today when they reveal the MRI results

Is it possible to get a press conference setup with the orthopedic doctor? Maybe with a way that CF members could ask questions directly? Since we’re all now basically doctors, we should be able to have a good back and forth conversation about his condition. Maybe provide some advice based on our experiences with ankles 10-30 years ago.

Enough with the sarcasm. Every last one of us has driven past the vet school on the way to park on game days to have audited a DVM.

In our collective expert opinion, Jefferson is suffering from something that prevented him from participation. The treatment is very straightforward: he should follow medical advice for the best opportunity for healing to occur. This means that there is a 100% chance that he will or will not play in future tournament games, which also guarantees that the cyclones will be better with or without him, presumably.

If you agree, stamp your hoof 3 times.

Or quack.

It's so tough because at this point they have been doing well without him, but obviously he's a valuable asset...

We've played trash teams so far. But when you go up against the big boys, you need a guy like Jefferson who can force his will and take over a game. I think we can bully Tennessee a bit, but we need Jefferson to have a chance with Michigan. That's going to be a game like we had with Arizona in the conference tourny, where its back and forth and you need elite playmakers to stay in it.

Kentucky beat Tennessee twice but ok they are trash.

Kentucky isn't as good as they should be given their talent, but they're not trash. We were just the exactly wrong matchup for them given their lack of a point guard. I'd say a 7 seed is about right. Not a great team, but good enough to advance to play us.

Is JJ playing at 50-60% make us better or not?

In addition to that, he has a NBA career to worry about too.
His presence on the floor makes us a better team, even if it's in limited minutes. When we lost Lipsey in the Vegas tournament it forced everyone else to turn up their game, we need to continue to play at a high level and then just add in what we get from Jefferson.

Idk where you got your amateur medical certification ...but everyone knows an ankle sprain of this magnitude requires minimum 5 hoof stamps.

Stop spreading misinformation.

My biggest worry against Tenn would be if the bigs get in foul trouble. I'd say that if that's not an issue, keep Jefferson off the court. If it is an issue, let him test it out on the court.

If he can't go against Tennessee not likely he will be good to go in two days for Michigan.
On the flip side, maybe they think they can risk it without him on Friday in order to keep the swelling manageable for Sunday. It is risky either way.

I bet he suits up, is on a minute's restriction, and hopefully gets to sit most of the second half when the game is out of hand for Tennessee. Or we crash and burn and none of this matters. Never take the nut cup off.

Right. We need him to be at our absolute/highest ceiling outcome, but, would playing him at 50-75% hinder the likelihood of victory? I'd at least like to hopefully find out so we don't have to play the "what if" game.
