If Kirk retires soon, Klieman will get a look.
Iowa is going to have a very difficult time getting someone as good as KF. Even prime KF wouldn’t likely replicate the past success, without the Big 10 West and Doyle’s “secret sauce”
Incredible how the Hoks skirt the best teams, and play a lot of mediocre to bad teams. There's like a 90% chance their defense goes to crap under new HC compared to what they've grown used to and even with the B10W protected rivalries x3 the schedule is much harder now with ISU consistently ranked being part of that equation.
This is the first time I can ever remember looking at an Iowa schedule and saying it's clearly tougher than ISU's schedule, even last year it was basically the same SOS.
Looking at what's coming up:
@Rutgers, Indiana, @ Wisc...these are probably all tossups
PSU - loss
Minn - win
Oregon - loss
@USC - loss
MSU - win but not guaranteed
@Neb - leaning toward loss
They're same team as last year (maybe slightly better because of QB) but they're going to lose 3-4 more games because of schedule difference.
5th if you count the person taking the photo. There was a picture of Tyrese, his fiance, Caitlin and Patrick McCaffrey together and my favorite twitter comment was: “I know nothing about Tyrese’s lady but I’m willing to bet that McCaffrey is the 4th best basketball player in that photo.”![]()

The S&C aspect of this is a big part.If Kirk retires soon, Klieman will get a look.

Yeah, and they have annual protected rivalries with 3 of themThere’s a lot of bad teams in the big 10
Surprised not to see Orange on there - I don't think a NT could play better than he didTop PFF grades:
Marcus Neal Jr.— 80.6
Gabe Burkle— 73.3
Abu Sama III— 71.1
Caleb Bacon—. 70.5
Jamison Patton— 69.6
Rocco Becht— 68.8
My favorite is the obvious realization by hok fans after Saturday’s game that one program is on the rise and one is in decline. Some of the better posts on social media from Hok fans
1. Iowa has become the meme of college football, so why would kids want to go there.
2. Beth get enough $ for a buyout.
3. Brent Bielema was mentioned by more than one.
4. Fans have come to the realization that realignment and NIL will make Iowa a bottom feeder in the Big 10.
Big money fans I know (I try to limit my exposure to them) want Woods next. I'm hoping they do and get a John Blake at OU hire. It's a good job, but it's a tough job in the new Big 10. They have very little chance of ever making the championship game. The fans are impatient and entitled. WIll they uproot their entire way of operating (OL play, base defense, player development) or go with a guy on staff/from the program? The fanbase was pretty sold on LeVar Woods a couple years ago. I don't know much about him.
Repeating the stability and consistency they've had for 40 years seems impossible. I know I'm wishcasting a bit, but when Kirk is done, Iowa is in a very precarious position. There's no way they can hire Klieman, this season notwithstanding. He has a Big 12 title, but he's just Kirk lite.
Fickell was supposed to be a home run for Wisconsin...Those programs are mirror images. Wisconsin probably has a few advantages even. Bring on the collapse.
ya. i get that. but i cant wait to hear their desired candidates and watch them struggle to fill the position with a big name coach.
KSU and TOE were both delusional about their QBs and are finding out their QBs were grossly overrated. We are blessed to have Rocco. I think the gambling scandal saved us from a similar fate with Deckers as our QB the last couple years. They have spent a lot of money on coaches and players recently, and it hasnt worked out how they wanted.
They expect to be world beaters by paying for it, and cant figure out that there is more to it than that.
Honestly KSU and TOE both seem very similar in their delusions, like identical.
A much smaller scale. That’s incredibly important and why it’s not like UTAnd kstate spent more money than we did, and more than Army. Yet they lost. And they're pissed about it. It's clearly a smaller scale for sure, but really the same thing
I think the best move for them, do a Cignetti/Leipold hire. Some group of 5 school that is hot. Not that wins the Big 10, but better than a KF disciple.Big money fans I know (I try to limit my exposure to them) want Woods next. I'm hoping they do and get a John Blake at OU hire.
At the game the whistle clearly blew just before the snap.I enjoyed that. Ferentz gets those all the time. We were due to get one back. Gotta say, I'd be pissed too. I think he got it by a hair, but you don't usually get that. Ref had good ears or peripheral vision. Too bad.

He did very well considering Iowa has a very good OL.Surprised not to see Orange on there - I don't think a NT could play better than he did
Apparently he's doing most of their recruitingBig money fans I know (I try to limit my exposure to them) want Woods next. I'm hoping they do and get a John Blake at OU hire.
