There's like a 90% chance their defense goes to crap under new HC compared to what they've grown used to and even with the B10W protected rivalries x3 the schedule is much harder now with ISU consistently ranked being part of that equation.
This is the first time I can ever remember looking at an Iowa schedule and saying it's clearly tougher than ISU's schedule, even last year it was basically the same SOS.
Looking at what's coming up:
@Rutgers, Indiana, @ Wisc...these are probably all tossups
PSU - loss
Minn - win
Oregon - loss
@USC - loss
MSU - win but not guaranteed
@Neb - leaning toward loss
They're same team as last year (maybe slightly better because of QB) but they're going to lose 3-4 more games because of schedule difference.
Incredible how the Hoks skirt the best teams, and play a lot of mediocre to bad teams.
5th if you count the person taking the photo.There was a picture of Tyrese, his fiance, Caitlin and Patrick McCaffrey together and my favorite twitter comment was: “I know nothing about Tyrese’s lady but I’m willing to bet that McCaffrey is the 4th best basketball player in that photo.”
There’s a lot of bad teams in the big 10
The S&C aspect of this is a big part.

My favorite is the obvious realization by hok fans after Saturday’s game that one program is on the rise and one is in decline.
Big money fans I know (I try to limit my exposure to them) want Woods next. I'm hoping they do and get a John Blake at OU hire.
They certainly aren’t in big name coach territory. Maybe someone that’s old and washed. They would be in the “hottest coordinator from Big 10 or SEC” territory is my guess.
KSU and TOE were both delusional about their QBs and are finding out their QBs were grossly overrated. We are blessed to have Rocco. I think the gambling scandal saved us from a similar fate with Deckers as our QB the last couple years.

UT had, and has, a legitimate advantage due to the enormous advantage they have in wealth. They had issues because they hired mediocre coaches, in part because those coaches were unable to build a culture
KSU may have kept up with inflation. The advantage they had over ISU in that regard is functionally petty change. It doesn’t justify the expectations of their fans
Clearly they have more material purchased than Army. That’s true if they had spent less than all other Big 12 schools. Perhaps that program was drinking from the same koolaide as its fans
I think the best move for them, do a Cignetti/Leipold hire. Some group of 5 school that is hot. Not that wins the Big 10, but better than a KF disciple.

But really the successful guys that can create a spark but aren't a splash or flashy can be a good way to go.
I'd feel the same way for ISU was looking.
He did very well considering Iowa has a very good OL.
His role is so difficult to measure, I’ve given up on expecting what my eyes see to match his grades
