I don’t have any insider information, but the coaches stopping contact seems, to me, like a self imposed punishment for a minor recruiting infraction. If that is the case, it’s a shame because it seems like ISU is his dream school since he committed early to make sure he had a spot on the team if the coaching staff left. Since Pollard finds it mature for commits to inform him of their decision, somebody from the AD office or coaching staff should be mature enough to contact the young man and let him know what’s going on. He deserves to know and should get closure to the situation.

WrestleStat Rankings - Week 3 2020

After our upset-packed weekend, the rankings have been re-processed.

Some notables:

Sebastian Rivera has 2 matches at 133, and his ranking at that weight is now #2, right behind Seth Gross.

Brent Moore of Virginia Tech moves up 12 spots to #4 after pinning #2 Sammy Sasso.

Ethan Smith of Ohio State moved up 10 spots to close at #12 at 165 pounds.

Dean Sherry also gets 14-place bump all the way to #12 after his upset win over Skatzka of Minnesota.

Kyle Conel slips down 2 spots to finish at #4 at 197.

There's a new #2 at 285, and he works for Michigan. Mason Parris trades places with Matt Stencel after his upset win last weekend. Don't worry though, Stencel has a chance at revenge THIS WEEK as Central Michigan and Michigan meet in a dual.

One reminder about the dual rankings; they do NOT reflect previous head-to-head dual results. They are a result of running each team through the prediction engine to see who would win in a dual based on the individual matchups.

South Dakota: We're "On Meth"

South Dakota's new tagline for its anti-meth campaign is, "Meth. We're On It" complete with a web site, onmeth.com. Actual grown-ups approved this and the governor even recited it on video.

This is some ad agency's idea to break through the noise and attract attention, but I'm not sure how effective it is when the first reaction (and the second, and the third, and the fourth...) is to make jokes at your state's expense. Let's see if it survives being a national laughingstock or if they change it.

I'm not a coach but....(playcalling)

So before everyone jumps all over me about "CMC knows better than all of us" and "you aren't a coach so you dont know" talk. I would like to know 2 things about our play calling.

1. Offense : We have Breece Hall, the guy runs for positive gains and makes people miss. We have a line that opens holes for him and he averages over 4 yards a carry. Why do you stop feeding him the rock the entire 2nd half? We become so 1 dimensional on offense instead of wearing down a defense and holding a lead!

2. Defense : Why do we constantly see 3rd and 10, 3rd and 12, 2 and 35 etc etc, and we rush 3, get zero pressure on the quarterback (obviously) and the other teams offense consistently gets 1st downs? It is maddening. I wish someone would run a stat to see what team leads the nation is 3rd and longs given up, because we would have to be near the top. I for one would rather see a 3rd and 4 or 3rd and 6 versus a 3rd and long with this team because of the way we soften our playcalling.

Great to get a win this week, but that game should never have been in doubt. If we pressure Elinger like we did the rest of the 1st half it is 10 to 0 and we roll in a victory instead of biting our nails into the last seconds down by 1.

Ok Trolls, attack!

Nice article about the Purdy Brothers

https://www.azpreps365.com/articles/11102-perrys-dynamic-duo-the-purdy-broth

Their parents have instilled in them that football is not everything. God, sports and who they are outside of football is everything. For the brothers, it is the foundation of who they are.

Their family truly does everything together when it comes to sporting events, dinners and activities like that, which is something the Purdy brothers are truly proud of. Each time either one steps on the field, they show how proud they are to be a Purdy and remember the sacrifices their parents have given them to get to the point where they are today.

Wow...so glad Brock is a Cyclone!

Texas Southern

Very unfortunate situation for their team.

The Tigers had their game uniforms stolen before the game Saturday and any hope of an upset over No. 1 Oregon vanished early.
The jerseys were left in a conference room while the Tigers watched video in the morning.
We came back to the holding room, they were gone,” she said. “We looked everywhere for them” with the assistance of hotel staff and the Eugene police but the search came up futile and the Tigers played in their practice gear.

Texas Southern is at Iowa State on Tuesday, and a new set of uniforms will be shipped there, Cooper-Dyke said
