Friday the 13th - Only once this year

Hopefully got my Friday the 13th bad luck out of my system. Went to take the garbage out to the trash bin this morning around 4:45 then wheel it to the curb before going the the gym. It was still dark out and I opened the lid, threw the bag in and heard the clunking noise.....FML.. Not only did I throw the garbage bag in but also the laynard with my car and house keys with my gym pass. As fate would have it, they went all the way to the bottom of the trash bin. Had to dig by phone out and turn the flashlight on to see where they were, then tip the bin over so I could reach all the way down and get them. Thankfully they were unscathed but the smell in the trash bin, I was literally gagging.

Final X is this Saturday at 1pm. David Carr vs Messenbrink is the first match on the card. They have a best 2 out of 3 series to make the world team.

Lots of people’s opinions on this matchup have shifted since the US Open finals where Messenbrink won by tech. I think David made a few stupid mistakes in that match that let it get out of hand. I expect Carr to be locked in and give Messenbrink a war.

Ames Pet Shelter

A few weeks ago, Grant Mahoney gave the last five minutes of the "Kickin' It" podcast to talk about pets, including the new and improved Ames Pet Shelter. He is a great advocate for humane treatment of animals. However, he didn't emphasize that there is still a need for donations to finish funding the new shelter. Question on Jack Trice Bleachers pre Sukup

Hello! I am trying to get the year the large aluminum bleachers were installed in the south endzone. By that I am talking about the version of bleachers just before Sukup Endzone was done.
I've found some history of JTS saying in 2002 permanent lighting and a large video board were added and I am thinking those nicer, higher capacity, aluminum bleachers were added about that time.
I am asking as my 101 year old mom and my father who is no longer living purchased their first season tickets that year. My mom purchased season tickets again for this year and was asking if I knew the year they started purchasing season tickets.

I may have to go back and re-listen, but I could have sworn that Blum made a comment that in most schools Olympic sport athlete won't be getting paid via the school and the new house ruling, but he said "at Iowa State they'll pay MBB, WBB, football, and in Iowa State's case, wrestling". I think it was around the 20 minute mark on Sundays podcast.

Is this true? Will the wrestling team be getting a small piece of that pie?

Was pointed out to me that it's time to start the thread for the upcoming season. Most of the new kids on the block have arrived on campus and we might have some other season related news breaking.
