Starting up a new one for 2026.

I added "pro basketball" to the title since this thread has served as a general "pro basketball" thread in the past, not just WNBA.

90-73 Fever. I thought the game started at 7:00 our time. Indiana's Boston dominated, as did Hines-Allen. Seems BC and Gustafson are rarely used together. Bridget had 16 pts and Gus is not as dominate of a player as I thought.

Gustafson is a HUGE liability on defense and is limited offensively, but the Fire really do not have any kind of post player. In the win vs Conn MG did not play in the second half.

Does The Fire get an early draft pick in 2027 as a new franchise? Bridget's averaging 17 point/g, not bad.

Pretty neat to see Carlton go from glad to just to be on a roster her rookie year to thriving as the star on an expansion team now. Shows you how the WNBA is all about the right fit at the right time. BC found it in Minnesota and got rewarded this offseason with a better opportunity. Was hoping Ashley Joens would eventually find that fit some day too but for some reason she just could not find a fit.

Since Gustafson was mentioned, before Clark she was the best player in their program's history. She has made a pretty decent career in the W too. This is a pretty good opportunity for her too just like BC, she is not going to turn into a star player from it but is going to get some playing time she probably would not have gotten elsewhere.

It is going to be really interesting to see how the "big 3" that transferred out in Crooks, Brown, and Williams do in the W after their senior year. Of the 3 I think Jada probably has the best chance to have the longest career if she can clean up the turnovers and hit the 3 more consistently. She just has so much raw talent and a good motor to play professionally IMO. Addy has the all around skills but is going to need to develop more of a killer instinct and be more consistent. Audi for as many accolades as she has already I just don't see how her game will succeed at the next level. Can you see her keeping up with A'ja Wilson? A'ja outruns some guards down the floor and would not be intimidated at all guarding Audi. It's probably a good thing Audi is getting paid now because even if she does go top 10 in next year's draft its going to be be more because of her brand and collegiate accomplishments than her potential to be an impact player at the next level.

CC is clearly afraid to face Bridget.

This is not a good sign that she is already missing games. This was my fear that she would not be able to take the physical play at this level. Players are playing for a place on a team and a pay check so it is much tougher than college play.
