Maybe it's been brought up or said, but is he any relation to Billy Moldanado that wrestled here?
Nasir Bailey for light weights is what I can think of
I don't believe so. Billy was from Indiana if I remember correctly and I think Javier is from Florida. I've never heard of a connection.
Billy and David were from East Chicago, Indiana.
Not a choice that was on my radar prior to a few days ago. Anyone know the connection with metcalf?
Was kinda hoping for a splashier name, but open minded and optimistic about the hire hopefully he can help us jump up a level.

All I know is that Metcalf really wanted Javi and targeted him to get him to Ames. Not sure on the connection, but I think Metcalf saw what he and Erisman did with getting Little Rock up and running and wanted him in Ames as a guy with a reputation for developing wrestlers.
My guess he's a good recruiter, Little Rock has pulled some really good recruits since going D1.
