Andy Katz 5 impact sophomores

https://www.ncaa.com/news/basketbal...mores-who-can-make-big-impact-2019-20-college

"Tyrese Haliburton, 6-5, G, Iowa State: Haliburton wasn’t expected to be a go-to scorer last season. He averaged 6.8 points, 3.4 boards and 3.6 assists. Those numbers should climb. Marial Shayok took many shots, and Lindell Wigginton, when healthy, was counted on to produce. Haliburton should assume much more of a leadership role as a sophomore for Steve Prohm and shine in the Big 12. Haliburton stepped up in the Big 12 tournament with 13 against Baylor and 11 in a championship victory over Kansas."

Amazing Race - Reality Stars Edition

Season kicks off tonight after survivor. Mixture of former Amazing Racers, Suvivor castaways and Big Brother Houseguests.

Of course from Big Brother they had to bring back Rachel and it gets worse as she racing with equally annoying sister Elissa.

Nicole is annoying too but I always liked Victor.

If only one of the Big Brother teams could of been Tyler and Angela.

There are obviously probably a lot I am missing. Also, some of these guys we are probably after harder than others. Lastly, this is just the Flo rankings - we have some very good kids not ranked that have committed and some others we will get too.

Know of any I'm missing? Please add to the list. With summer and fall approaching, recruiting will pick up a lot in the next 5-6 months.

Des Moines Event Venues

I am looking at different event venues in the Des Moines area for a corporate event. What are some of your favorite venues for events in the area? Probably need space for 75-105 people depending on the turnout.

Would have to be booze-friendly. Budget is semi-flexible. Usually this event is business-casual, so preferably not just at a dive bar type of place.

Help support farmers at the WRNL Actually Helping Farmers Golf Outing

This summer, Wide Right & Natty Lite is hosting their first ever Actually Helping Farmers Charity Golf Outing to raise money to donate to Practical Farmers of Iowa. The outing will be on July 20th at Coldwater Golf Links in Ames. Cost is $85 per person ($340/team), and will cover green fees, cart, and a meal provided by Hickory Park.

More information and registration is here.

First big board I've seen to hold that many Cyclones. Surprised about Meeker though, but I'm not an O-line guy.

Parking Pass and Donations

We've never had a parking pass so I haven’t really paid attention to how this all worked. I know that the $500 donation level doesn’t guarantee the paved parking. My question is if we were to dontate say $600-700 would we then be high enough on the priority list to pretty much be guaranteed the paved lots. I wasn’t sure exactly how the priority points worked.

Being sued in small claims court (legal help)

My partner just received a summons and complaint notice for some past-due medical bills. It happened when she was super broke and didn't have any insurance. We are doing better now financially but definitely can't pay it all upfront. Neither of us has any legal experience and we are wondering what we can do next. How hard is it to appeal these things or negotiate a lower payment? Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Melanoma Monday

May is skin cancer awareness month and it's Melanoma Monday. If you haven't done so yet please schedule your annual appointment with a dermatologist for a screening.
Skin cancer can be deadly so educate yourself about skin cancer and encourage your family members and friends to do the same.
This morning while watching the Today show I learned that Kentucky football player Joshua Paschal is battling advanced Melanoma. This surprised me as it's widely thought that people with dark skin pigment are at much less risk for skin cancer. Joshua's cancer was a rare type of melanoma that he thought was a wart on the bottom of his foot. Joshua is still undergoing treatment for his form of melanoma, see the link to his story below.
I am just over three years into my personal battle with advanced Melanoma. We are so thankful for Dr. Markovich and his Melanoma team at the Mayo Clinic where we've been traveling at least every four weeks for the last three years. Much love and appreciation to my wife for her loving care and assistance throughout our cancer journey.

Take care all, Cyfan4good

Feedback: Podcast Error

I was going to try to listen to the CW and Stanz break down the Caleb Grill and La'Michael Pettway commits podcast and got the following errors:

Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /home/cyclonef/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-campfyre-sync/wp-campfyre-sync.php on line 233

Notice:

I tried in multiple browsers and still got the same error.

New Parking Lot Near the Stadium?

Driving by Jack Trice today, I noticed temporary fencing (similar to the type seen at construction sites) being put up and surrounding the intramural softball diamonds / grassy areas / football fields east of the stadium off University. It looked like they were fencing off nearly that entire area. Does anyone know what work is going to be done there?

My initial assumption is that they're going to be installing parking. I hope not, as the flood control and other threads make clear that all we do as a society is constantly put in more pavement (since when do you see pavement get removed) and I just don't think it's worth it for the 6 or 7 football games a year to install all that blacktop heating up our planet. That's also a flood-prone area and in the floodplain.

That said, I also understand how the AD might be extremely frustrated given the heavy rains the past few years causing them to close grass lots and how that created problems for people. I just don't think the benefits are worth the drawbacks if it is new parking. I'm also sentimental for the intramurals I played on that field back in the day;-)

Anyway, just curious. Sorry if this topic has already been addressed in another thread. I couldn't find anything.
