Coming from an umpire that had no dog in the fight, a very poorly judged call by the 2nd base umpire led to three Moravia runs and their win.
Lost power and missed a chunk of the game. What happened in this situation and what was the call?

From what I saw I was impressed with Moravia's hitting vs. CR-B's pitcher. I don't know what he was cruising at last night, but I think he's a guy that can touch 88-90 and can spin it pretty well. I suspect in 1A guys don't see much of that during the year.

Norwalk -CIML
Ames - RRC
Newton-RRC
Indianola - RRC
DMC - RRC
PC - Heart of Iowa
I think Ames, Indi, and Norwalk should just all try to get in the CIML along with DCG. Then split it up into two divisions with smaller and larger schools:

Large: Valley, Johnston, SEP, Waukee NW, Waukee, Centennial, Ankeny
Small: Norwalk, Indianola, DCG, Urbandale, Ames, Dowling

If they wanted to add another to the small school division, maybe Bondurant Farrar.

Both divisions would have different teams having success at different sports. I wouldn't see any single school dominating everything in either division. I don't know what the growth trajectory is for Norwalk, Indianola, B-F, but I imagine Norwalk will be passing up Urbandale in a few years. Maybe B-F eventually. Looking really into the future I could see North Polk getting up there, but right now their BEDS is 472 while Norwalk, Urbandale and Indianola are 800+.

There are a lot of conference alignments that make sense for travel, size, and competitiveness, but the state is going to have to probably step in and make it happen. These schools jumping around is not getting it done.

***OFFICIAL 2026 WEATHER THREAD***

2.5 inches last night in Grimes (NW side of town)

With this rain and the last one, we got a little water in our basement. Not a ton, but enough to make the concrete floor wet along one wall. Not sure if these are anomalies or we need to see if there's a bigger issue. :-/
Could just be an anomaly-but one that could repeat. Given the ground saturation maybe your foundation drainage was pushed to the limit. We have lived in our present home for 30 years and had a small amount of water on the (unfinished) basement floor 2 or 3 times. all a result of water gurgling up where our geothermal lines exit the basement floor. and all when the ground was saturated and subsequent rains taxed the foundations drainage capabilities I don't have a sump pump system nor do I have gutters on the house. Rare, but it happens. My situation could be easily rectified if I put a diamond wheel in my 4" disc grinder and cut a shallow channel to the nearest floor drain three feet away, but I just haven't had the time :) :):)

Marvel Cinematic Universe

I thought there was a little bit of an Asian accent, that it was Wong. I didn’t see him anywhere else in the trailer though. Is Dr. Strange in this?
It was Downey as Doom. After watching it a couple times, I can kinda hear his voice. Neither Strange nor Spider-man have been announced as being in the film. We'll find out in about 10 days where Spider-man ends up after his "solo" film.

Ouch. Penn State 2027 Recruiting Decline?

Texas A&M and FSU beg to differ on that one

That is the crux of the thread. Can CMC actually get those guys to come to his team and buy in? The good news this year is he should win 10 games and be able to sell winning, the bad news is that if those 4/5 stars don’t want to buy into what he’s selling at PSU. I think the recruiting will be a lot better in 2027 after a winning season
You think PSU wins 10 this year? I know the schedule is pretty weak but that seems like a steep climb for a new HC breaking in a new system at a program that lost half its roster.
