Friday OT - Weird Interests

This probably isn't that weird per say, but my wife would say otherwise. I find anything about outer space and all of the physics, science and technology around it so fascinating and most of it mind blowing. The huge scale of things is almost unthinkable and hard to wrap your head around if you think about it. Shows like "How the Universe Works" and documentaries and discoveries from Hubble and now the JWST just leave me in amazement.

***2024 Minnesota Vikings***

There’s reason to be leery of any QB getting drafted. But playing for a conservative coach on a team that didn’t need to score a bunch doesn’t change the fact that in a lot of critical measurements he was elite, particularly accuracy when under pressure, third and long performance, etc.

I love Daniels, but they also had two WR drafted in the first round.
Three if you count the Niners pick and their time together at ASU.

FTC Bans/Voids Non-Compete Clauses

I’ve worked a few places that had them but really only one that enforced it.

The legal folks can correct me: but I’ve viewed them as more of a threat than actually enforceable from the start. The company would have to prove damages from the employee going to a competitor which is hard to do unless the employee is giving away trade secrets.

However, these companies have teams of lawyers and get the employee to fold just by overwhelming them with lawyer fees. Even though the company can’t win in court, they can beat you by never even getting there.

The last place I worked (construction) would warn you if you left for a competitor. They would leave you alone unless they saw your new company bidding against them on a project. Then you could expect to hear from the lawyers right away.
This is spot on IMO.

***2024 NFL Draft***

That doesn't change size measurables. Also not like he was sitting on a couch for 5 months before that. Could his other numbers be better, sure but not by some significant margin. My point is that they are the same size and DeJean is maybe a marginally better athlete.

he broke his leg, do you think he was running windsprints over the winter?

My point is, being a marginally better athlete than Riley Moss (who is an exceptional athlete) is a very big deal. In that league, those small differences are extremely important.

Im not a Vikings fan but I honestly think JJ is in the right situation to be very good. He goes from being coached by Harbaugh, to O'Connell. Hes 27-1 and a national champion with great ball placement and is mobile with a very strong arm. IMO he may turn out to be the 2nd best QB in this draft all said and done.

I'm a Vikes fan and don't love the pick TBH. JJ played behind the best line in college with a run game that completely opened up the field.

And...........you don't think it's a little strange actively rooting for 21 year olds who are from our own state to fail miserably?

I dont want yo derail this thread, but like I said in the CC thread, it's really bizarre and disturbing behavior for grown men/women to actively trashing players like that.
And again I say, "is this your first time seeing a rivalry?"
Pretty sure Cooper and Caitlyn are going to survive the "torture" that some folks are putting them through. I'm sure they appreciate your fealty, tho.
