Clarksville and NB still share wrestling / Superintendent / HR person as some other stuff I believe. Football is back to being separate. Not sure if Clarksville would be out of the picture but would think they would try to stay by themselves for as long as possible. I think towards the end of wrestling season last year Rockford sent a couple wrestlers to NBC.Would Clarksville be completely out of the picture then? They were sharing wrestling with NB and at one time football but not sure if they still do.

My assumption is they want to join the South Central Conference, since it makes the most sense geographically and enrollment-wise; they would be 6th in enrollment in the SCC vs. last in the LHC.
Additionally, everyone except for Knoxville and Clarke (3A) is 2A in the SCC, so they would be competing against the same-size competition. And, in reality, neither Knoxville nor Clarke is dominant in the SCC, so PC would compete with no issues.
PC enrollment for 26/27 is 240; in the LHC, the next smallest school is Oskaloosa at 465.
What's everyone's feeling that its double elimination this year for the 1st time? Trying to mimic the college game to a degree?Over halfway through Day 1 in Fort Dodge...

Its a little different, was looking at the 2A and it looks like you stay on your side of the bracket for quite awhile. So Cardinal beat the #1 seed and if they lose to IC Regina, they should play GV Christian again. You would think they would put the upper half of the bracket losers playing down in the lower bracket. No since playing the team you beat in the first round again in the 3rd round. What's everyone's feeling that its double elimination this year for the 1st time? Coming from an umpire that had no dog in the fight, a very poorly judged call by the 2nd base umpire led to three Moravia runs and their win.Moravia upsets top seed Coon Rapids Bayard.
I think Ames, Indi, and Norwalk should just all try to get in the CIML along with DCG. Then split it up into two divisions with smaller and larger schools:Norwalk -CIML
Ames - RRC
Newton-RRC
Indianola - RRC
DMC - RRC
PC - Heart of Iowa
Lost power and missed a chunk of the game. What happened in this situation and what was the call?Coming from an umpire that had no dog in the fight, a very poorly judged call by the 2nd base umpire led to three Moravia runs and their win.
Batter hit a looper to center that the CF caught in front of him while running in, held up his glove to show he made the catch, then dropped the ball when he went to throw it. Picked it up and threw to first to double up the runner that had gone to second. Inning should have been over. Somehow the ump didn't rule it a catch so there are runners now on first and second with one out.Lost power and missed a chunk of the game. What happened in this situation and what was the call?
From what I saw I was impressed with Moravia's hitting vs. CR-B's pitcher. I don't know what he was cruising at last night, but I think he's a guy that can touch 88-90 and can spin it pretty well. I suspect in 1A guys don't see much of that during the year.
I think Ames, Indi, and Norwalk should just all try to get in the CIML along with DCG. Then split it up into two divisions with smaller and larger schools:
Large: Valley, Johnston, SEP, Waukee NW, Waukee, Centennial, Ankeny
Small: Norwalk, Indianola, DCG, Urbandale, Ames, Dowling
If they wanted to add another to the small school division, maybe Bondurant Farrar.
Both divisions would have different teams having success at different sports. I wouldn't see any single school dominating everything in either division. I don't know what the growth trajectory is for Norwalk, Indianola, B-F, but I imagine Norwalk will be passing up Urbandale in a few years. Maybe B-F eventually. Looking really into the future I could see North Polk getting up there, but right now their BEDS is 472 while Norwalk, Urbandale and Indianola are 800+.
There are a lot of conference alignments that make sense for travel, size, and competitiveness, but the state is going to have to probably step in and make it happen. These schools jumping around is not getting it done.

I think it short hopped him. I would have liked to see the umpire sell that call a little better, but he was the closest one to it and looking right at it.It didn't have anything to do with the transfer. The ball may have skipped when the fielder went to catch it.
