Twister Sister Summary - ISU Continues to Fade

Let's face it. CU is an average at best team. Not terrible, but not good either. But that places ISU in the unenviable place of being bad. And getting worse.

RADIO RECAP: No. 19 ISU women tumble to fourth straight loss, 68-62, at Colorado

Jeriann Ritter

Some sad news about Jeriann Ritter. We used to have her and the rest of the WHO crew on every morning as we were getting up and going for the day, but haven't done that for a few years. Then more recently when I've caught her it was clear that something with her voice was off. She just opened up about it and it's not great news, sounds like a degenerative condition and the prognosis is that eventually she'll lose the ability to speak.

Very sad if true. Pulling for her and hope she proves the neurologists wrong.

NIL embezzlement at St Johns

***Just realized this is Hoiberg’s guy at ISU after I posted it! I honestly didn’t pay attention to the name until rereading the X. At first I thought…’what are the odds?’ Yep, it’s him.

NIL but also political…don’t butt hurt at me, I’m not the one who stole or spent it.

But thought it was interesting since it happened at one of our opponents this year, St John’s. Also, I doubt it’s the only case…I bet we’re gonna find more of this in the future.

The political aspect of it isn’t lost on me either.
Gets a mind to wondering how those worlds came together. Seems bigger than one guy.

Twister Sister Summary - Facing CU and a Turning Point?

Big game tonight in Boulder. On the plus side the ladies have to be getting used to the new reality of no AJ or Brown.

No matter the sport, why does Iowa State always seem to fail the moment they reach a new height?

I'm going off of memory here, but I've the past decade it seems when any Iowa State team hits a new high, they always lose the next game.

Football vs Texas a few years back. Multiple Big12 football championship games. Basketball being ranked #2 two years in a row and immediately losing.

Am I only remembering the bad things or has anyone else noticed this pattern? What's the reason for this?

Old Copper Culture peoples in Iowa

Hey folks,

I'm looking for your stories, your family stories, and finds....

I am originally from west central iowa where there were copper artifacts found on the surface after settlement (1850+)...

This map doesn't show copper influence but it was further southwest and I have an article from 1914 to prove it (still trying to locate a copper knife in private collection).

This is really a new and growing historical look at North American on a different scale. Copper mined in the Great Lakes region 9000-5000 years ago made it to the Missouri River Valley....

Toughest Bracket Thoughts

I know many of you had problems listening to the radio on Sunday vs NDSU, it's frustrating for everyone on both ends when that happens. Anyway, Andy and I were talking about how tough both 157 became this year with Larkin moving up, and 133 with Jax making an appearance.

We started talking about toughest all-time brackets and I immediately thought of Metcalf's bracket when he won with 6 champions (Jordan Burroughs among others) and 2 runner-ups. The only one I could think of that was comparable would be David Carr's from 2 years ago with 5 champions in it.

What do you guys think, what am I missing? And which is tougher this year, 157 or 133 if Jax goes?
