Summer brain rot

Any YouTube recommendations for my kids to mix in with their Sunny and Melon Roblox videos and horrible shorts? We enjoy Mark Rober for some science and engineering, but I was wondering if anyone has some other good finds for kids educational.

It's not educational but we are enjoying Ryan Trahan's 50 states in 50 days series. I appreciate his overall positive approach on his channel. Bonus, we saw him in the Atlanta airport a few years ago. Our youngest happened to have found a penny just prior, so our oldest was brave enough to go up to him and give it to him. If you are familiar with his channel, this would make sense. He was very nice during their brief interaction.

Jamaal Tinsley opinion..

I'm still bummed about Tyrese's injury, and heard he had successful torn achilles repair surgery yesterday, Monday. I ran across this and thought we could give some thoughts and love also, to another Pacer, and Iowa State great, Jamaal Tinsley. What a fun player to watch!

Places to Visit in Western Europe?

Anyone have any recommendations for places to visit in western Europe?

I was thinking about going to a few other places for the ISU game in Ireland next year. I thought I might fly into London to see some things there and do a day trip by train to Paris before heading over to Dublin. If you got much further away than those cities, it was getting to be a bit of hike though not as bad as I had thought.

Jon Gruden Gives Iowa State the Ultimate Shout Out

For those that don’t know, Jon Gruden has been doing an unboxing series where he receives care packages from programs, opens them up and talks about them a bit.

CMC and Iowa State just sent him one and it comes at no better time because Jon loves Tyrese Haliburton. Lot of pumping up of the basketball program, football program and even a Hooters shoutout.

Reaction Time: NCAA Championships recap, portal madness

Jacqueline Cordova and Ben Visser react to Iowa State’s underwhelming performance at the 2025 NCAA Championships before diving into the wild west of the transfer portal and more. Presented by Fareway Meat & Grocery.

Stephen King’s ‘The Stand’ gets (another) adaptation

King has some all time great novels. But by and large his movies are never as good as the books because the books are so long and character driven. It’s not a shock that most of his best movie adaptations are from his short stories (Shawshank, Stand By Me, The Mist, Green Mile was a serial novel).

His best works are often over 1000 pages. ‘It’ the mini series was garbage (sorry) and the two 3 hour movies recently were fine but still nowhere near the greatness of the book.

Now ‘The Stand’ is yet again getting another adaptation but I’m cautiously optimistic. I think their choice for a director is a great one.

But if this is gonna be one movie it won’t be good unless it’s over 6 hours long. Haha.

Jefferson is our top returning scorer, so he is the favorite though I think it will be Milan. From last year:
Jefferson - 13 PPG
Milan - 11.5 PPG
Tamin - 10.6 PPG
Heise - 5.1 PPG

Incoming transfers:
Buchanan - 5.4 PPG
Mulder - 8.4 PPG
Nelson - 14.4 PPG

A/V setup

We're selling our house, which had a dedicated home theater w. 5.1 setup. Moving into this new house, I'd like to move to a simple setup. A few things to consider:

I already have the A/V receiver I'm going to use. Denon X3700h. Overkill for what I need, but it works.
I already have a giant 500 watt 15" sub

90% of use will be YTTV, Netflix, HBO, etc

I'm thinking of just going with 2 towers and a center channel. I've never owned tower speakers, in the home theater setup I had some 20 year old NHT bookshelves. Basement setup with 9' ceilings, plenty of space.

I'd like to spend less than $1,500 for those 3 speakers.

Thoughts on this setup? Will I miss the surround? Brands? I keep hearing about ELAC, KEF, Wharfedale, etc.
