AMES, Iowa – For the first time in program history, an Iowa State women’s basketball freshman has earned All-America status. Audi Crooks was announced as an honorable mention AP All-American on Wednesday morning. She is the 11th Cyclone to earn AP All-America honorable mention. Iowa State has had one AP All-American for seven-consecutive seasons.
The Algona, Iowa native lead Iowa State with 18.9 points per game while collecting 7.7 rebounds per game. She was a unanimous selection to the All-Big 12 First Team and a Big 12 All-Tournament team member. The center has made over 58 percent of her shots from the floor, the best mark by a in NCAA Division I this season. She has finished with 16, 20-point games and has posted double figure scoring in each of the last 29 games for the Cyclones.ADVERTISING
Crooks holds Iowa State freshmen records for single-season points (585) and field goals (237) and is one from owning the made free throw record with 106 makes from the line. With her field goal total, she is also third all-time for Iowa State makes in a single season regardless of class. Crooks is 17 makes from matching the all-time best for the Cyclones, set by Bridget Carleton (254) in 2018-19. Her season total for points ranks 10th regardless of class for Iowa State.
Iowa State returns to action Friday, March 22nd for the first round of the NCAA Tournament when the No. 7-seed Cyclones take on No. 10-seed Maryland. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT in Stanford, Calif.
