Iowa State surprised redshirt senior Ben Nikkel with a scholarship following his senior speech during camp this week.
The defensive back has been apart of the program since 2021, after he transferred in from his hometown McPherson College.
Nikkel appeared in all 12 games on special teams during the 2022 season after redshirting in his first year.
