Iowa State squarely on the bubble in ESPN Bracketology Update

Iowa State is squarely on the bubble in ESPN’s post-summer bracketology update that dropped Tuesday morning.

The Cyclones are listed in the ‘first four out’ category as the squad looks to return to the Sweet 16 for the second year in a row.

ESPN’s Joe Lunardi has four conferences – the Big 12, Big 10, ACC and SEC – tied with seven teams appearing in the field for each league.

Baylor and Kansas are No. 2 seeds while Texas sits at a No. 3 and TCU at No. 4.

In-state programs Drake and Iowa are included in the bracket as well with the Bulldogs being an automatic qualifier at a No. 12 seed and the Hawkeyes coming in at No. 10 in the ‘last four byes’ category.

Iowa State opens the season on November 7 against IUPUI at Hilton Coliseum.
