STILL DANCING: Hunter leads Iowa State into the round of 32

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Welcome home, Tyrese Hunter.

Iowa State’s star freshman point guard delivered his greatest performance in his return to his home state of Wisconsin by scoring 23 points, including connecting on seven 3-pointers, to lead Iowa State to a 59-54 win over LSU in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Iowa State will play the winner of the nightcap between Wisconsin and Colgate on Sunday at a time to be determined.

Izaiah Brockington added 19 points in the win for the Cyclones, but Hunter is the one who will draw the headlines after his virtuoso performance.

The Cyclones advance to the round of 32 for the first time since beating Nevada in the first round of the 2017 NCAA Tournament.
