WBB: Iowa State moves up to season-high No. 6 in AP Poll

The Iowa State women’s basketball team set records in both made 3-pointers as a team and assists in a game to a single player on Saturday afternoon against TCU.

It streaked to its fifth Big 12 win in a row and arrived promptly at its best mark in school history through 24 games, finishing the week at 21-3.

The team earned yet another on accomplishment when it rose to No. 6 in the Associated Press Poll in the latest release, the highest it’s been this season.

Iowa State had not been ranked as high since it came in at the same mark on January 7, 2002.

The Cyclones are the highest ranked team in the league at No. 6 right ahead of No. 7 Baylor as well as other Big 12 foes in No. 14 Texas and No. 15 Oklahoma.

It comes ahead of a big week, where Bill Fennelly’s squad will take on the latter pair of the four teams.

Iowa State will travel to No. 14 Texas on Wednesday (7:00 p.m. Longhorn Network) before returning home to face No. 15 Oklahoma Saturday (6:00 p.m. ESPN+). The full poll can be seen below.
