Iowa State wrestling releases 2020-21 home dual opponents

The Iowa State wrestling program has announced the Cyclones’ home dual opponents for the 2020-21 season.

The list of opponents goes as follows:

Wartburg
Utah Valley
Purdue
Arizona State
Oklahoma State
Missouri
Northern Colorado
Oklahoma

Dates and times will be announced at a further date.

Head coach Kevin Dresser also added a new twist to his schedule once again as he and Purdue’s head coach Tony Erslund came together and agreed to hold their dual at Humboldt High School, where both coaches once wrestled.

Dresser won state titles at Humboldt in 1980 and 1981 while Ersland did the same in 1991 and 1992. Both coaches also went on to wrestle for Iowa.

The Cyclones will also be holding their annual Cyclone Open.

In a tweet, Dresser also shared a look at the away schedule which went as follows:

Iowa
UNI
West Virginia
North Dakota State
South Dakota State
Penn State
Las Vegas Invitational

He also went on to say they are still searching for a school in Montana they hope to face in January.

A trip to Montana means a chance for 149 pounder Jarrett Degen to wrestle in his home state.
