The Iowa State football team’s status keeps trending upward.
Case in point: The results of the Big 12 preseason media poll — which were revealed today.
League scribes picked the Cyclones to finish third, behind Oklahoma and Texas.
And it wasn’t very close in terms of separation from TCU, which was projected to finish fourth.
The Sooners received 68 of a possible 77 first-place votes. The Longhorns received the remaining eight. Coach Matt Campbell’s Cyclones obviously didn’t garner any first-place votes, but did accrue 589 total points — 115 more than the Horned Frogs.
Oklahoma tallied 761 points and Texas totaled 696.
