THE LATEST: Iowa State has received two new commitments in the last 10 days.  Offensive lineman Braden Foster of Mundelein, Ill., accepted a preferred walk-on opportunity while another lineman, Bobby Lawrence of St. Joseph, Mo., flipped from Illinois St. with a greyshirt spot.

THIS WEEKEND

*** The Cyclones will host 4-star wide receiver Joseph Scates on an official visit this weekend.  Scates is rated as the No. 54 receiver and No. 322 recruit in the class.

*** 2021 in-state defensive end TJ Bollers will also be in town for the Tennesse game this weekend. Iowa State offered him on the 16th.

*** Quarterback Brock Purdy will visit Alabama this weekend and is currently visiting UCF.  He was in Ames last weekend and at Boise St. on the 13th.

*** Cornerback Justin Birdsong and cornerback/wide receiver Tayvonn Kyle also visited this past weekend.  Kyle will visit Georgia St. this weekend.

NEW NAMES

Two new high interests are 2018 wide receiver Gregory Clayton out of Lutcher, La., and 2019 defensive end Devin Baldwin, who was offered by those guys in Ames on Tuesday.  Safety/outside linebacker prospect Dayven Coleman announced a commitment date of February 6th, though it is unlikely that he picks ISU.

Iowa State’s staff handed out 30 new known offers since January 13th.  The lone 2018 high school offer was extended to California wide receiver Geordon Porter on the 18th.  Porter is rated as the No. 91 receiver in the class.  ISU also offered a graduate transfer from Rice University, safety J.T. Ibe.

THE RATINGS

Four Cyclone commits received rating bumps in the last 10 days.

Cornerback Jaeveyon Morton continued his climb up the rankings, rising 6 spots at his position to No. 63 overall.  Morton is now the fourth highest rated recruit in the class.

In-state commits Zach Petersen (defensive end) and Zach Ross  (offensive line) rose seven (168 spots overall) and eight (182 spots overall) slots at their positions, respectively.  The largest jump was by the only commit who did not sign in the early period, as ATH Josh Madison moved up 22 and 163 spots to just crack the top 1500.
