Rhoads was lowest paid coach in Big 12 last season

Paul Rhoads was the 59th highest paid head coach in college football last season and the lowest paid in the Big 12. That’s according to USA TODAY’s recent head coaching salaries database that was released on Thursday.

According to the report, Rhoads made $1,712,282 in 2013.

Another interesting aspect of this specific database is that it allows you to show how every coaching staff (outside of the head coach) ranked in terms of pay. By comparison to Rhoads coming in at 59, Iowa State’s staff saw a jump at No. 45. Rhoads’ staff was paid $2,142,929 in 2013.

How does that stack up against the rest of the Big 12? Not bad, actually.
