In my mind, there’s no such thing as "too early" when it comes to college football predictions. Spring ball is over. The time to speculate and trade paint begins now fanatics.

Earlier today, College Football Live (ESPN.com) released its first preseason poll for the 2011 season.

Five Big 12 teams are included in the rankings, while the Oklahoma Sooners came in at No. 1. Other Big 12 teams in the mix are Oklahoma State (9), Texas A&M (11), Texas (20) and Missouri (23).

Quick thought: I’m not sure how you can throw Texas into the preseason top 25. There’s no doubt that Mack Brown has plenty of talented compiled within that program, but as David Ubben pointed out in the linked article above, the Horns have a TON of holes to fill. Stay tuned. It is only April 25. Only 130 days until kickoff!
