The Iowa High School Athletic Association announced on Thursday that former Lewis Central wrestlers Trent and Travis Paulson and Riverside coach Mitch Anderson will be among those inducted into its wrestling hall of fame this winter.

Travis Paulson finished 174-3 in his high school career, winning three state titles, while twin brother Trent Paulson won two state crowns to go with a 192-2 career mark. Both Paulsons went on to stellar careers at Iowa State and then internationally.

Anderson led Riverside to a state championship in 1996, and has coached many state champions and state placewinners.

He joins Fort Dodge’s Ed Birnbaum in the coaches’ portion of the hall, while the Paulsons will join Fort Madison’s Gary Steffensmeier and Cedar Rapids Kennedy’s Joe Slaton in the athletes’ section.
