    Dan Hurley to the Lakers?

This would be such an easy job. Just give Lebron the clipboard, sit back and collect your check.

Part of me wants to make a move sooner than later. Last thing we need is his bum ass trying to make a big move to save his job and it not working out. Bottom line, the philosophy of getting a bunch of mid-tier, low ceiling players who are wildly inconsistent their entire careers is not a recipe...

I’ll be pretty annoyed if we buy any rentals this deadline. This is just not a good team. C/1B/3B are current jokes, you need two more starting pitchers if you want to be serious, and you have zero identified roles in your bullpen except 6 swing guys.

Ballesteros is probably the long term answer but there’s questions on his defense. Rockies have two offensive-minded catchers who are more effective at getting base stealers out on the last year of their deals. My guess is we end up grabbing one of them soonish.

I would take Bote, Wisdom, Vazquez, or put a pause on Busch at 1B and let him get a few at 3B before going with any of the 3 M’s at 3B. To me, it makes most sense to move Busch to 3B, Belli to 1B, PCA in CF, and let Morel be DH/4th OF.

No, because I was born in 1991, which was the lone year he was with the Cubs. I see he had 10 errors over the course of 151 games while hitting .285 and 25 dongs. Morel has 8 errors in 47 games at 3B and is hitting .201 (albeit, he has been unlucky)and on pace for 29 homeruns. Point I’m...

Only guy I mentioned was Morel, and winning as dramatically as we did wouldn’t have been necessary if he could’ve fielded a routine ground ball

Nice thing about tonight is it wasn’t one guy coming up big. That was an entire team punching back to win. Hopefully leads to a turnaround.

5 runs because your .195 BA cleanup 3B can’t field a routine waist high grounder. Entire FO needs to go. Stop crossing your fingers and praying your **** will turn gold.

How many more opportunities is Morel going to get? Man. Frustrating.

I'd also like a focus on a high floor bat. Right now, Bellinger is the only guy on the roster who day in, day out you know can put up a competitive at bat. Suzuki, Happ, Morel, your C's, Swanson are all capable of being automatic outs at the plate, and when multiple of them are on the same...

I agree. I'd love to find a way to sell off Taillon and convince Happ to waive his NTC to go to a contender to free up $40 MM. We do have something crazy like $88 MM available before any of our pre-arb players get paid. And then an extra $15 MM when you cut Smyly and Bote, and possibly another...

Where I think the Cubs should go from here - building a decent team to finish this **** show of a season and firing Hoyer and bringing in someone from a non-poverty franchise. Building for a team in 2025 - C - Call the Rockies and grab one of their catchers. Neither are gigantic trash cans...

I’ll have to look into the rules, but Davis was actually pinch hit for by the backup catcher, who came in to pitch down 18-6, which is why he’s listed as a P in the box score. My guess is the rule book says only guys originally listed as pitchers can have a DH and anyone else has to hit

Fun win. Great job by the bullpen - 12 straight outs to close it out including Luke Little having gigantic balls to get the job done.

Busch was an ******* during the race and should’ve owned up to it. Dude should be penalized because he alone is the reason anything bad happened Stenhouse is a ***** for holding onto it for 2 hours and throwing a punch.

My $0.02 Madrigal still is great at a specific role. If you need someone just to get the damn thing in play, he’s the man. Runner on 3rd with less than 2 outs and Gomes/Amaya are up, he’s the man. And I have zero issue if he steps in for a Swanson/Hoerner day off. Mastro has zero role that...

My guess is the decision to call him up was a control the fire you let get a little out of control situation. Swanson and Hoerner will play Tuesday, but they learned definitively Mastro will not be a productive contributor to a quality franchise. Storyline after last year was that each...
